Kevin? Justin? Jessica? I was just explaining stereotypical East German wannabe Western names like Mandy and Danilo to a friend recently.

Sheldon had me on the brink of tears this whole episode. His reaction to what Tom said about his future as a chef was somehow both powerful and understated, and you could tell how much it meant to him. He's right up there with Shirley in being a perfect human.

The last half or so of this episode was really powerful and beautifully done…but I kind of wish they'd put the silly De La Penis and drunken teenager on a bicycle stuff in another episode. Yes, it lulled me into a false sense of security that this was not a Very Special Episode, so kudos to the show for faking me out,

Yes! I had chills all the way through.

I'm OK with just these little tiny tastes of Trent, because I like the suggestion that there could just as easily be a show called "Crazy Ex-Boyfriend" in which, for instance, he'd be visited by dream ghosts on his flight from Boston back to California.

"CeCe, I realize now that I shouldn't have told you to take a nap when you had a concussion….I feel like Andie MacDowell in Short Cuts." Not as light as most of her other roles, huh?

That bothered me, too. $8K would have at least covered a little bit more of his 2nd lawyer's fees!

I started singing "Too Many Cooks" about 10 shots into that endless final scene.

Yeah, I can totally see that in real life, but I find the "I just didn't feel a spark" thing to be very unsatisfying TV. If the actors are selling the emotional chemistry, it's hard for the viewer to feel the vicarious lack of physical connection.

I rarely laugh out loud watching TV by myself, but that one really got me. Schmidt's line reading was great as always.

This show is great. I can't believe how lived in it feels already. It's a testament to Issa Rae (and her amazing production team and cast) that she's able to build a world that's similar to ABG without being a rehash.

That last book was really bad. The second one I was willing to like if she'd finished strong, but no dice. Kind of makes me wish she'd followed the Wachowskis' fine example of discontinuing a planned trilogy after the first thought-provoking installment.

I was so excited when I recognized him! And Cece got an actual line in the meeting. I know this is a different show and I'm loving the new characters (especially Molly), but I still miss ABG and the people who inhabited that world.

The rest of us had to keep reassuring one friend I was watching with that the edit was so clearly setting up Katya's exit that it had to be a fake-out. She was literally shaking as the final decision neared.

Come on, folks, why all the outrage? We all know that being self-referential and thereby supposedly self-aware gives you complete license to do all the things you're critiquing.

YAS, Dope Queen!

I had that thought, too. Now that valonqar has the motivation.

I think of her as Nurse Rached

My Lady Stoneheart Truther heart skipped a beat this episode, logic be damned!

Yes! I had this conversation with a friend recently, who insisted he had watched it in the production order on Netflix and didn't understand why I was so confused by the order on there now. Until he tried to watch it again…
