Doesn't it say something about an actor, that he can appear in three mega productions (Terminator Salvation, Avatar, Clash of the Titans), one of which is the biggest box officer grosser in history, yet he remains utterly forgettable, with no defining facial or personality characteristic?  Every time I see him pop up

Good lord this sounds fucking awful.  Is NBC actively TRYING to run itself into ground?  Is there a Producers-esque scheme to make flops and run off with all the backer's money? Because it's succeeding.

The slightly blurred woman in the blue-red striped shirt seen passing in the photo at the top of the article is none other than Renee Zellweger.  Linklater pointed her out in the commentary, and this was one of her first roles, as prominent extra.

Mike,

And so in a way, together they kind of work as rather co-dependent personalities.  O'Brien, as has been stated, really has nothing but that relationship with Cora, while Cora signed away her fortune to an arranged (albeit loving) marriage, and I think has come to lean on O'Brien, who supplies validation.

Or "Down in Abby"

I've taken their relationship to be one in which Cora really does depend and lean on O'Brien.  But every now and again, this being one example, she finds it necessary to emphasize SHE is the one calling the shots (though she often really isn't).  And so her response to a legitimate (though well intentioned) theft of

Yeah, he's that peculiar kind of awkward, that if he were a real candidate, it'd take one Dukakis driving the tank photo-op to sink his candidacy.

Mega Dittos.  The only place where I've seen this as an issue are TV shows.  In real life, at least, in my life, you didn't just apply to any pie in the sky school.  You shopped around for what was in your price range.  And for me, that meant I didn't BOTHER to look at a lot of schools, and focused on the best I could

My Stray Observations:

Yeah or maybe Cora is rocking the dream stick…actually that'd be a pretty interesting character reveal if she were a secret opium smoker…and it would explain a lot.

Regarding Cora/Elizabeth McGovern's accent, I wonder if it hasn't something to do with her American roots, but having lived longer in Great Britain.  I've had friends who've spent a semester in Australia and they come back with an Aussie accent.  And given she's lived, what, years, decades? in Great Britain, I'd

A reality show on AMC?  That CAN'T be a good sign.

As if the United States is doing so great either?

Yeah it just read like you were warning people off, unless they'd seen other Archers films. I don't find it at all inaccessible, and in fact it was my first Archer's film (except for seeing A Matter of Life and death when I was six or seven).  "The Tales of Hoffmann" or "I know where I'm going!" (both masterpieces)

PS: Everyone, see "The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp"  It's marvelous, and fully deserving of its reputation as "The Citizen Kane of British Cinema."

Okay Todd, you crossed the line, you knocked "Colonel Blimp."  Sabres at dawn sir!

So Frank Darabont gets canned from "Walking Dead," despite that awesome season 2 premiere episode outline he describe, yet this dolt Sud gets to keep on her merry way ramming this show into the ground and piling dirt on it?

I also thought this episode was a great stepforward in the development (or decay?) of Emily's character.  Up until now, I got the distinct sensibility she was only in the thing (to borrow from Breaking Bad) for a half measure, not really willing to get her hands dirty.  I thought there should be more at stake than

Maybe it's just the actor and how he characterizes the role, or maybe it's a hunch, but there's something wrong about the political candidate.  He's got a Ted Bundy thing going there…
