The distress beacon meant that everyone in the universe who had an interest in The Doctor witnessed his 'death'. River did good after all.

I might have been.

I read that bit about his name as "maybe it was Hitler."
That would explain the big secret I guess.

It will be called Doctor Jenkins or something.

Thanks for the links!

@stillthinking The Gamma Forest mistranslation was by the Gamma Forest girl in AGMGTW. Melody was trained/ programmed to be an assassin throughout her childhood. She became River Song because The Doctor told her the name in Let's Kill Hitler. I think that's it.

I thought that Amy modeled for Petricor Perfume and that's why she knew what it meant later (to her) in The Doctor's wife. If she got a steady job before this season it also explains how they afforded the new house in Impossible Astronaut. The kid just asked for her autograph because there was a big picture of Amy on

I liked the way the first half is a cool James Bond type story and just totally goes with that, then suddenly Cybermen! and the second half totally changes. It reminded me of From Dusk Til Dawn.

The War Games didn't drag at all for me. It was really well done and had enough reveals and moments where the stakes were raised again to make it amazing. I watched it over a whole week and it worked really well as a serial.

I'd have liked to have seen Isabella on the coptor ladder on film. For some reason.

I'm disappointed that there was no British space program, BBC3 or Liberal Prime Minister in the 70s or 80s.

Just how many times does Vaughn say "Packe-er" in this story I wonder? I think it's great that the actor actively draws attention to it by saying it in an absurdly exaggerated way every time.

Good point. Silly me.

Ho ho. I am now reminded of Gold's music for the Xmas story with the (presumably Moffat) lyric 'when you're alone silence is all you see' repeated over and over. That was very cool. But he did wreck The God Complex with his air punching 'yay it's The Doctor!' music when the Doctor was using a living being as live bait

The Tardis was never there as it was the Teselektor fake Doctor. Perhaps that's why he spits the wine (he doesn't have a real throat).

Oh crap. I just thought of an everything ruining plothole. This is a show about time travel. The Doctor has been all over time doing his oncoming storm schtick. How does faking his death in one time change that? Wouldn't everyone he already met in the future have heard? But…. Has he ever pulled the "I AM THE DOCTOR!

You just don't get serious drama like that anymore. This Moffat clown is all cheap tricks.

I hope so. I get the impression that last year was a transitional last hurrah to RTD style Doctor Who and this year is trying to ween us off of that by showing us that that the small scale drama is just as important if not more so. The end of everything only seemed smaller because we had been given more reason to

I think she was talking about dying inside.
