A lot of Mormons do get caught up in the ratings system, which is a shame. It's not something that is officially taught by the Church anymore though. I think the official line is just to exercise judgement when choosing your entertainment.

Just gonna say what I say every season: crossbow is a TERRIBLE zombie weapon (slow to reload, poor range, and oh yeah you're now carrying bolts covered in highly infectious goo).

I thought SWAT zombies was a pretty wicked idea at first, but then I realized that they are the worst zombies, since they can't bite you with their helmets on.

I've given Nerdist a try a few times and always got bored/annoyed pretty early on, so I completely agree. BUT, I listened to the Tom Hanks 'sode and it was very good, for all the reasons listed in the writeup. So I suppose if the guest is charming enough it's worth a listen.

I really hate this movie, so I was glad to see it on this list. Part of it is a reaction to all its acclaim, like you say, but it's mostly because of the quasi-profound philosophy it preaches; that selfish, short-sighted actions result in lasting happiness.
