I couldn't get through the pilot - right after the bad guy from Lost kicks Kiefer's ass in the first 15 minutes, my mind could not comprehend such a reality and that was it.

My favourite line of the episode!
Maybe a new creative team is what the show needs to reinvent itself, but if this is the end, then my only sentiment is that the show deserved better in its last days (as opposed to everyone jumping ship).
I would love to see him do a voice on Archer, and he should definitely get to say "DANGER ZONE!"
Do more stuff on Archer!
I wonder if they ever imagined what a large role the Dean would play on Community. He was the first person you heard on the series!
Furthermore, we're never given any reason to hate Meg. She's not a horrible person like the rest of her family - they just dump on her for kicks. With Klaus, he's kind of a douche, which he's proved more than once (i.e. when they put him in the body of the lead singer of the Earth Wind and Fire cover band that tried…
Excellent example where less is more. The reaction was just perfect.
Part of this was based on an article which I read, and my understanding was that if you look at the 2 key ingredients in sci-fi - the characterization and the "fantastic" scientific elements - Braga was clearly more adept in the latter camp. It's not necessarily "good" or even accurate scientific principles as the…
According to some interviews, Braga has a really good grasp on the science part of the writing - his weakness is that he's not great with the character part, so all of his scripts over-rely on techno-babble. When he was paired with Moore on TNG, they were a really great writing team since Moore is awesome with…
But there are scenes where Jeff appears when Roger is out of disguise, i.e. when he's eating the furry popsicle (the one where Stan is marking his territory around Steve), and he definitely knows that his name is Roger (Stan has called him that before in front of Jeff). It's a little hard to believe that Jeff wouldn't…
This episode was really predictable and not every joke worked, but I still enjoyed it. They really need to make this the marquee show in Animation Domination or whatever it's called now.
That's a good analysis. Despite the similarities, it feels like the FG writers "hate" Meg. She's always the butt of all jokes and they almost always border on cruelty. With Klaus, he usually gets the raw end of the deal, but they give him an opportunity to show that he can be kind of an ass at times like the rest of…
I think they accomplished with Roger what they could not with Stewie - as @avclub-ff106e6c37bdf72c1903080b91d5b2c8:disqus pointed out, being an alien excuses him from the incredibly horrifying things he can put out there. Roger is my favorite McFarlane character, and his tendency to role-play (i.e. Wheels and the…
…or failing that, the 30's announcer radio service.
We'd have to ground the TV Club flag. Half-mast would be too damned high.
Well, in movies, things like that are considered with plot holes or loose threads - neither of them are looked upon favorably, although they can be overlooked "in the heat of the moment", i.e. you enjoy the movie and it doesn't become obvious until further analysis afterwards.

At the same time, I learned that a lot of what made it potentially appealing for a cable audience was a stumbling block for a broader network audience."
Sweet reference!
On March 16, I hope to see at least 1,000 people "watched this last night" for Community on the AV Club main page!
