I remember reading an interview with Ice Cube once where he was asked what his worst movie was, and he immediately nominated Ghosts Of Mars. He said something like "In many ways, it's unwatchable. John Carpenter really let us down with the special effects on that one - it was like something out of a movie from 1979."

You may be slightly confused - in 1991, Terry Jackson played bass on Dolby's "Astronauts & Heretics", then he and 7 other members of Reba McEntire's band died in a plane crash..

This album single-handedly makes 2011 not suck.

"I would explain, my dear, but I fear you wouldn't understand - blessed as you are with a head emptier than a hermit's address book."

This man must have a cast-iron stomach. Or really good mouthwash at least.

I'd like to join in on a calypso jam session.

The Clash. Might've happened if Joe Strummer had lived, but maybe not.

Well, this is certainly food for thought.

Spector buried Lenny's croak under a Jericho-sized wall of sound, it has Bob Dylan on inaudible backing vocals, and "all liquor purchased from John & Pete's liquor store." There has, perhaps understandably, never been another album like it.

Good catch on John Cazale. That guy could've done anything. If he'd lived I can imagine him now as Steve Buscemi's dad on Boardwalk Empire, maybe..

No more Arista? Let's hope the Alan Parsons Project catalogue doesn't go out of print!

re Not Now John: I always had the impression that yelling "fuck all that!" in Waters' general direction would've been very cathartic for Gilmour..

Would've been nice to hear a story about Airplane/Flying High. He has one of my favourite lines in the movie: "He's all over the place! Nine hundred feet up to 1300 feet. What an asshole!"

Fucking awesome! Thanks!

I seem to recall on one of the FG DVD commentaries, the writers talk about why Meg is the show's punching bag. They pretty much admit it was because the show is written by men who have no way of relating to, or writing for, a teenage girl, so they take their frustrations out on Meg's character..

I was logging in to say this. A shame it got passed over in the RR for Malcolm McDowell and now Hamill too.

The title track "The Hunter" pays tribute to Brent Hinds' brother, who unexpectedly died during a hunting trip.

It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Ramsay's fritters!
