I know you've heard that 'progressives' are supposed to use 'John Podesta' as an insult, but I'll bet $20 you couldn't tell me who he is without looking it up first.

Alternative Username: 'Single Payer would have passed if the Democrats just tried!'

Goddamn it, Americans! Stop ruining Wings of Desire!

PLATFORMS JUST WORDS ON PAPER I KNOW IN MY HEART KILLARY WOULD $$$ELL THE COUNTRY TO GOLDMAN SAX

That's underpants gnome politics. We have actual examples in VT and CO where democrats *did* try to create popular support for single payer and it didn't work. People support it in the abstract but once the discussion turns to how to pay for it that support dissolves.

Canceling the Oscars as a political protest is the dumbest fucking idea I've ever heard*. 'No Oscars for you America, that'll teach you for electing Trump!' That sounds like something the South Park guys would have an elite liberal stereotype say.

Of course there are things to criticize Hillary about, as with any politician. But the charges leveled against her (corrupt, says anything to get elected, etc) that people like yourself buy into are absolutely the result of right-wing framing.

Of course this is how these conversations always go:

Yep. If you watched The Day After you'd know that the midwest would be part of a nuclear first strike against the US.

Believe it or not pro wrestling fans lean Democrat.

Hillary Clinton ran on the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic party. It seems like only 'progressives' who can't let go of Bernie fail to realize this.

In fairness though, Trump is racist, and everyone who voted for him is racist.

Single-payer wasn't considered because it was never going to pass. The votes weren't there, and there was (and, frankly, is) no clear way to pay for it: even people who support single payer turn when they realize that their taxes will go up substantially (see Vermont's attempt to introduce single payer.) It was a

It's hard to imagine so-called progressives buying into conservatives' framing of Hillary. Yet here we are.

It's absolutely toxic. I don't get pissed when I see a car with a Trump bumper sticker, but I'm going to key the shit out of next vehicle I see with a 'Giant Meteor 2016' sticker.

If that hasn't been a Law & Order plot it needs to be

I am mildly relieved that he didn't go through with his threat to nominate Peter Thiel.

An entire category on John Donne? For god's sake hold your tongue and let me love!

And that P was also a drummer for Asia, so maybe someone should check on him
