Yeah there are a bunch in Kansas.
Yeah there are a bunch in Kansas.
I went to college in Scranton, PA, which at the time was the home of Home Film Festival, a mail-order outlet that specialized in foreign films, with a ridiculously deep catalogue. They published a quarterly(?) catalogue with all their holdings, and, like an early version of Netflix, you could rent them via mail.…
I'd actually recommend it, albeit with caveats that make it seem like a non-recommendation: there's a good show in the subplots, but the lead character and his plot are…unfortunate. If you're interested in the music of the period it's worth your time. I think that with a new showrunner, assuming it's not a sign that…
Yeah I'd say Episode 1 of the Sopranos hasn't aged well, but you have to give some leeway for pilots, and otherwise Season 1 is a masterpiece.
I think they're still trying to cultivate an air of exclusivity; better two tentpole dramas than twelve forgettable ones. It's not a bad idea, but you need to have the two tentpoles. Game of Thrones is paying the bills now, but it's closer to end end than the beginning. Westworld sounds like a disaster, and they've…
You're totally right; I take it back. O.J.'s son did it.
Nope; killed accidentally by her brother, after which her family awkwardly covered it up.
No joke, I haven't eaten spaghetti since that horrible weekend. Thanks for helping me regulate my carbs, AV Club!
Hang Time is such a great record; I don't think anything else they ever did lived up to it. Grave Dancers Union is one I'm really torn on–the songs are great, but the record's so damn polished, like a Def Leppard album. If only the Twin/Tone Soul Asylum could have recorded GDU….

Have you seen pictures of David Letterman lately? I think dude retired and chose to live on the streets.
Every word of this comment is truth. The first Serial was an ok whodunnit, but this one dug into a remarkably complicated and widely misunderstood story. Franky it's the sort of thing the media should be doing regularly; the fact that it took a podcast to report on the Bergdahl case rather than just react to it is…
It's a great song! Canadians do mildly inspirational pop better than anyone.
And the points they make end up being pretty similar to Kevin Smith's, particularly the lack of any humor. But like Smith is schooled in comic books, these guys are schooled in film, so they also, I think, do a great job of articulating where it goes wrong.
In fairness, Jimmy Fallon is a raging alcoholic.
Right-wingers (and 'independents') are now substantially more likely than Democrats to believe that vaccines should not be required:
Dude if you're getting worked up about someone failing to properly appreciate Louis CK you might want to reassess your life, maybe set some new goals. At least pick up a new hobby.
I can tell you're funnier than CK
We need another Vietnam to thin out their ranks a little.
