I would be interested in hearing more of your thoughts on that. What separates it from Royal Tenenbaums, which is #2 on their list? They seem like very similar movies.

Oceans Eleven is another one I have never thought of as a deliebrate comedy, but as an entertaining heist movie that happened to have some very funny moments.
That's true, but doesn't Luke Wilson cut his wrists in Tenenbaums?
Wolf of Wall Street is absolutely a comedy. Leonardo DiCaprio throws a friggin lobster at Kyle Chandler.
Yeah, I don't know. Part of the criteria wasn't comedies that made them laugh the most or hardest because that was considered too subjective. If I was to make a list based on movie theater experiences where the audience was going crazy, Wedding Crashers would be on it.
Having a grown up around makes sense. Out of morbid curiosity, I read the New Yorker article and it is quite a read.
I agree. I think this captures that idea.
She's had a handful of solid to good performances, they just happen to be in these little indie films that either aren't very good or not a lot of people have seen. Sils Maria, Still Alice, On The Road, Camp X-Ray, Adventureland, and Welcome to the Rileys justify that there is real talent there.
Still waiting for Ching Chong Matinee
Yeah, I remember thinking very clearly that his weekend update was easily the best part of a terrible show, and I'd usually turn it off afterwards. Maybe it hasn't aged well.
Man, that Cheerleader sketch was hilarious when it first aired, I remember everyone talking about it. They they went back to that well 100x times. Jim Breuer, I almost forgot about goatboy ugh.
It's hard for me to hate on Russo, as a teenager in the early to mid 90's. Major League, Lethal Weapon 3, Outbreak, In the Line of Fire, Get Shorty, Ransom, Tin Cup, she was in a crap ton of movies I watched over and over, whether by choice or because they were on cable all the time.
"There was a long stretch when he was one of the very best things in the movies. It was a mix of handsomeness and intensity that we hadn’t seen before. Gibson could act. He could run. He could suffer. In Maverick, he does none of them and is still a star."
Getting a kind of Stephen King vibe from this as well, which would be a cooler direction to go in than just aliens. I'm hoping the twist is supernatural.
Wino Forever
Other example that comes to mind: there was an episode of the 60's Batman show where Penguin ran for Mayor due to a section of the City Charter that "specifically allows for convicted felons to run for office." His "All the Way with Pengy" campaign line and chorus of dancing females proved to be popular despite the…
I thought it was always more fun when the kids with the powers have to go on the run.
Her Twitter is hilarious
That's interesting that you like McDonough the best. Not that I agree with it, but the consensus at the time was that Quarles was a step down in quality from Mags Bennett. There's a whole "even seasons are the best, odd seasons are the lesser ones" mentality out there about Justified.
Don't forget Jennifer Jason Leigh
