@avclub-b6e5391be8277308d0801a0be95ac706:disqus Yeah, the first thing my mind goes to when I hear "Chechnya" is that hostage crisis… but I'm not in the US either, so maybe you're on to something.

Wait, doesn't everyone sell butter by the stick?

This is the most sensible thing I've read about this poem.  You can never have too many of those rolls (they'll still be good tomorrow if you can't eat them all in one sitting!)

I remember seeing this in the theatre some drunken afternoon in college and really enjoying it but I can't remember much about it except for some hot and sweaty ladies (I think Gina Gershon was in it too, which was a big draw for me) and lots of cockroaches.

I used to sort of peripherally know an NHL player (he was a childhood friend of one of my friends) and this dude – who was a solid, mid-level player, but never a household name – used to keep his NHLPA union card right next to his license for the frequent times he got pulled over for speeding or suspicion of DUI or

If you're counting strips, For Better or For Worse had a gay character all the way back in the early '90's (can't say I'm a fan, but that was pretty ballsy).

Yeah, it strikes me as cynical too – they get to take the "high road" and appear sensitive by bumping the episode, which hey, just so happens to garner good publicity and create demand to see this episode even more when it finally does air.

Your mom's cool!

I think that's part of the reason people are so vocal about hating the Eagles (aside from using it as an excuse to quote Lebowski).

I no longer own Pyromania, but if I hear "Foolin'" or "Photograph" on the radio you can bet I turn that shit up… but I think the first album I loved that I still actively listen to today is Electric by The Cult.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but you're apparently not white or young.

"Anymore"?

Which is a shame because I love his '80s production. The drums on Danzig's debut and The Cult's Electric still sound fucking incredible.

Well, he's got you there, Matt.

Holy shit, I'm Forrest Gump!

I recently only realized that my iPod was playing the Songs library alphabetically after hearing the third iteration of "Ramblin' Man" and realizing that I'd already heard two different versions of a couple of other songs on the same commute.

Liked for the Old 97s and Matt Mays!

I had the exact same response to Fantasies and I've tried to like Synthetica (thinking it would grow on me too) and it just isn't happening.

Same here… some days my two year old will be totally happy playing by herself quietly and I can get a few things done in the other room (with occasional peeks – I just need to be careful she doesn't see me peeking in there because that seems to break the spell).

My wife made something recently that I guess was sort of savoury bread pudding-y. It was somewhere between bread pudding, quiche and pizza but it was pretty fucking awesome… it had ham, several kinds of cheese, red peppers, onions and brussels sprouts (which I'm not usually a fan of but they were really good in this
