That is either going to hinder or enhance my masturbatory activities. Too early to tell which direction it's going to go.

I was watching Sesame Street with my kid recently and they did a Boardwalk Empire parody (called Birdwalk Empire) that included a "Straight Up and Down" sound-alike opening sequence. Never thought I'd hear Brian Jonestown Massacre on Sesame Street, but there you have it.

Oh yeah, no question… I'd probably try to avoid working with either of them if I could, but Taylor-Taylor at least seems to have some sense of professionalism (which has always been used as a knock against the DWs).

Yeah, that one and "Strung Out in Heaven" are the only two that I ever listen to in their entirety these days but even they have a couple of stinkers.

I think there's some genius at work in BJM's music, but none of it really comes through in the documentary. I went into it as a fan of the band and was really disappointed in the music and performances showcased – which I'm sure is part and parcel of Anton's erratic behaviour.

I don't think BJM ever released a front-to-back great album, but if you culled the best tracks from their '90's output you could put together one of the best records of the decade.

That actually makes me like him a bit more… I mean he had to know how douchey the movie was going to make him look and basically say "fuck it, I am what I am".

That dude was thrilled when Davy Jones died.

He definitely comes across as the only person in the movie I could stand to be in a room with for more than a few minutes.

I generally fall into the "all my favourite singers couldn't sing" camp too, but Neko Case's voice honestly gives me chills.

@avclub-3db41011acc2d229176bf6a92202728d:disqus Tim Horton's may attract the crazies, but I'm pretty sure they're spawned at Coffee Time. You ever want some interesting late night conversation, just hit up an inner city Coffee Time.

I'm usually a pretty avid hockey fan but I'm refusing to acknowledge this "season" on general principle and haven't been watching at all.

Mill St. makes some great beer… I especially love their coffee porter.

Counterpoint: Chicks in sundresses and army boots will always be hot.

Y'know, I always heard about that but I wasted a lot of hours watching late night Italian movies on that channel and never saw so much as a nipple (now,Telelatino, on the other hand….)

Sadly it doesn't.
I mean, I know the difference but for some reason I can never remember which one is merely good and which one is extraordinary. I think the problem is that they're both good, so even if I'm drinking the "wrong" one I'm pretty happy with it.

Awesome for you, maybe, but what about us? We need these stories!

Kind of unrelated but this reminded me of a story form my college days… one of my classmates (who I suppose was a pretty handsome fella) was used as a model for some posters advertising our college. It was basically a life-size photo of this dude that was eventually plastered on the sides of bus shelters all over town.

Similar story here…. went to school for editorial illustration, was going to set the world afire painting portraits of celebrities and doing conceptual illustrations for magazine think pieces and got out of school to realize that if I ever wanted to actually make a living doing that I'd have to spend a decade or more

My liquor store carries Fuller's London Pride and Fuller's London Porter. One of them's good, the other one great but I can never remember which is which when I'm in the store so when I have one of the great ones I go "This! This is the one! I'm not gonna forget it this time!" and then next time I'm at the store I go
