… and I've just realized that I only had "Shakespeare My Butt" on cassette and I no longer own a cassette player and I need to hear "Henry Needs a New Pair of Shoes" immediately.

I like the Hip well enough and enjoy the stretch of records from "Up to Here" to "Day For Night" (especially on a long road trip) but I can't say I've ever really gotten the intense love and adulation, no.
Nice… I've been looking for a digital version of the Demics' "Talk is Cheap" EP for awhile and now see that it's there in the 1979 list too.
I still refuse to believe that JB Smoove and Smoove B are not the same (fictitious) guy.
Wow, that dude's not even 30? I'm a haggard and withered 36 year old and even I look 10 years younger than that guy.
I hated TPOH at the time, but the last time I heard "I'm An Adult Now" on the radio I thought "Damn. They got me. I'm old."
Considering he's the only one of the three still alive, that's probably the best possible use of the bullets.
Thanks for posting that (I've already emailed the link to myself at home so I can browse through it at leisure)….
Any other Canucks out there remember when Darlene Conner started to look like that one dude from Grapes of Wrath, but you still found her attractive and kind of questioned your sexuality?
I can't access youtube here… is that The Smalls?
I had that song in my head all last week (despite not having actually heard it in 15 years or more) and I've been meaning to look them up when I have the time.
Hmmm… I didn't really get into Pavement until the reissues started coming out (I was aware of them and even had a dubbed copy of CR/CR in the '90s but I was mainly into punk and hardcore at the time and they were too slow and wussy for this manly teenaged man) so I was able to hear the rest of their albums with some…
To each their own, but I don't know how anyone could find "Love in Fear", "On To You" or "Sub-Domestic" tuneless.
Yeah, I was just being a smartass (and adding nothing useful to the conversation, as usual).
@PugsMalone:disqus Arcimboldo! My wife has a print of one of his vegetable portraits hanging in her office.
Really well put, and I think this gets at how criticism you disagree with can (if it's well written) be an interesting and helpful way of understanding and appreciating art (and how you relate to it).
If we could tell you, they wouldn't be unknown
That's the thing about Pavement… you can ask 5 fans which album is their favourite and get 5 different answers, but to any non-fans they all sound exactly the same.
For crying out loud, don't even joke about a 32 team league. Let's try cutting it back to a 28 team league and see what happens.
They started the season off surprisingly well and are ending it surprisingly poorly so it's the exact opposite of most recent seasons, but with the exact same outcome (ie no playoffs).
Apparently I'd be a True Neutral Human Druid (5th Level).
