Ranch it up!
This episode was so narcoleptic.
MOVIE TALK TIME!
Yeah, MacKenzie has a chance in the wunderkind slot (despite being 50). Jackie's chances are definitely looking increasingly unlikely, but Larrain could also be the surprise wunderkind/auteur, and I wouldn't be shocked if it's one of those weird cases where the director is up but the movie isn't. Maybe that could also…

I've enjoyed Haters Back Off, but it's definitely not for everybody.

1/10/17 MOVIE TRIVIA RECAP
Round 1: General Knowledge – I was all set for the first question to be about one of the stupid new movies coming out this weekend, but instead it was about Patriots Day, which is already out, but expanding this weekend. Thus we were not prepared for the follow-up about the other movie Marky…
I would say the unexpectedness of its success. But that's hard to measure, and even if we can find pre-release projections, they might have fluctuated over time.
I just know that Ryan Reynolds had been wanting to make it for years. So either his idea of fun is very safe or he is super-okay with corporate influence. Perhaps corporately conceived and passion project aren't mutually exclusive.
It's definitely not the most subversive franchise movie ever (that's a description that befuddles me in its reception from people who should know better), but calling it a thoroughly corporate creation is an exaggeration in the opposite direction.
The Big Short is the only sleeper of those four. Spy's a reliable Melissa McCarthy comedy, XXL is a sequel that made only about half of the original, and Spotlight's gross was modest.
From most sleeper-y to least sleeper-y… oh wait a minute, there's two factors here: sleeper-y-ness and hit-ness.
It may feel that way, but - regardless of the film's quality - this is very much a passion project for Ryan Reynolds.
Are you sure you weren't also thinking of Mara Wilson?
I think I'm going to pass on this one. There are so many variables I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I feel confident that the simple league will be plenty fun on its own, though.
Looks like it's going to be: watch the original Twin Peaks.
Have you seen Lion? I haven't yet, but apparently he's really handsome in it.
