I don't think language restrictions was the reason for changing the song lyrics. The point is that Alexandra doesn't know the words to the song and doesn't have a sense of the angst it comes from—she thinks it's a fun song by the Violent Ferns.

I'm surprised the Eurythmics didn't get mentioned here. "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "Beethoven (I Love to Listen To)" for starters.

Speaking of Roxxy out of drag, I feel a little weird saying this… but did anyone else think she and he were different races? Shanell's biffed line from All-Stars ("I'm a white man in a black woman's body") could apply a lot more to Roxxy.

The editing on that seemed so heavy-handed. The slo-mo "oh no she didn't" BOMP musical cue every time someone asked if Alaska and Sharon had any jealous rivalry made it seem manufactured, more than it actually was.

Good judges make a difference, but in a way that a good show isn't about the judges. While I got a few good years out of watching American Idol, I don't think I'd watch The Simon Cowell Show, if that were a thing. Simon was at his best when he knew the right level of involvement for the judge to have, and when to step

Yeah, I enjoyed the review a lot. I am so done watching the show but looking forward to more AV Club reviews of it.

It got started a little slow, and the time-warp was especially jarring, since it was established pretty early in the last season that they would be friends. But once it got going it kept me laughing. I like how the show's New York seems to be populated with interchangeable people—like June could take one Pilates class

It also seemed out-of-character for June, too, to know where the gross cougars went and use it to show Chloe how gross the cougars are. June usually sees the good in people, and so it was weird to see her treating them as objects of a sort. Also kind of weird that she knew about a place in New York that she wouldn't

I think more and more people are online dating—but I also think there's becoming a big gap between a certain rational approach and an irrational approach. So last night I watched a little of Partners, because for some reason I have decided I don't mind watching Michael Urie try to make the best of terribly written scripts. And I thought, hey, isn't this the exact same script as last week's episode? It said it was a new one! And I think I turned it off after five

I'd thought this episode was verging on that overuse—maybe one or two too many Nadia gags in a row. It was very funny, but the Nick/Schmidt moments were, as Erik says, superior.

"Yes'n how many seas must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand?" asked Lady Gaga.

I am kind of afraid that I am totally going to watch this.

My stray observation: During the runway show, Gunnar saw Melissa's look and said to her, "You would wear that, wouldn't you?" And I thought, if that was intentionally backhanded, it was perfectly subtle.
