Kubo is great, I love it, but I am VERY hard pressed to honestly say that it is better than Zootopia. Kubo has more heart and personality, but Zootopia gets into some really heady, important stuff and does it extremely well for any movie, much less a kids movie.

Nah, the second Purge movie had a great mix of social commentary (the revelation that the entire thing was an excuse to kill the poor for various reasons) and good action. My biggest complaint is that it had too many ideas and some of them ended up feeling really rushed.

As someone who appears to appreciate horror movies, you should check out The Wailing. Really different, really good, and my gf and I spent the rest of the day trying to pick the movie apart and figure out all of its nuances. I'll put it as second only to The VVitch for horror/thriller movies this year.
