Well, clearly there will always be violence, at least on an individual level.  Even at it's most utopian Trek has never suggested that no one in the Federation ever throws a punch in anger anymore.  We're talking about large scale conflicts here.  And even when you talking about historical wars that were ideologically

"I learned that there will also be reasons to fight, and people will always want more."

I'll agree with this.  I mean, I know the difference between character pieces and action romps. And I don't expect or want an episode like this to have a phaser shootout or space battle.  I just felt like the actual character moments could have benefited from a bit more succinctness, for lack of a better term. I hope

There's a joke about Garak sending text message photos of his penis to Dax in there somewhere.

I would assume that when in his natural state, he has his own non-visual sensory inputs.  But when he is in a form that relies on vision he emulates that mode of input.  Of course, that makes his ability to take a humanoid form that much more amazing, since he seems able to produce functioning eyes and gather sensory

See, here's the thing. I'm starting to come around in a small way on DS9's "darker" world.  I'm starting to see that when it's done well, it's not so much a rejection of the Roddenberry optimism and ideals, but more of a return to the original series's paradigm where these things are achievable but hard won.  When

Overall, I liked "The Wire" plenty, but I thought it fell short of being great.  Garak is a fascinating character, and the games he plays with Bashir and his past were interesting to watch, but the episode felt a little slow to me.  I felt at times "yeah, we get it. Garak lies. Get on with it." Not that the actor

Sisko's speech was the worst part of this week's viewing. It was basically everything I dislike about this show.  There's no subtlety to it, all "Grrr!!! Angst!!! Dark!!!"

Yup.  I tried watching this show.  I can honestly say I hated it because the characters (all of them, not just the lead)are utterly annoying and I found nothing entertaining about the show. I don't find Hannah to be a "comedic antihero", just annoying and somewhat contemptible. Nothing to to with feminism and sexual

None for me, thanks. 1. I consider not vaccinating kids tantamount to child abuse, and for some reason, child abusers are a turn off to me, and 2. rompers are one of the least flattering things on a woman I have ever seen.
