Quick response
I was a Catholic. Maybe I still need to be a Catholic to think Dogma was anything but pseudo intellectual crap. But that really wouldn't make sense either.

But if the philosophy is awful, who cares about the honesty behind it? And is there any honesty in a Kevin Smith movie actor? If anything, all are smug.
Whoops
Okay, now I might have taken his name in vain, since I mispelled it. "Sanjaya," of course.
Grok
You might want to go back and visit previous Hater and Tolerablity Index posts. I am an apostle of Sanajaya.
I almost forgot…
There is no God but Sanjaya.
EDJ
Well, I do understand the comparison a bit more, and I'm no big Allen fan, but Smith is no filmmaker and has no gift for philosophy or any sort of deep thought. Hence my utter astonishment at the comparison.
Clarification
In addition to "While I do not have objections to the long comments posted here," I meant to include the fact that I completely skipped them. It was pretty easy this time.
Hijacking Monikers
While I do not have objections to the long comments posted here (yet, oddly, the length of the comments in the most recent entry of the unending "women-aren't-funny" debate did grate me), and while I usually can't stand it when people hijack monikers, I do have to say kudos to the first person to…

And I thought I wasn't going to comment:
yikes1
I might be more forgiving if this topic hadn't already been covered in at least two other Hater comment threads…
Hmm?
What's weirder, people who post excessively long comments on articles/blogs like The Hater, or those who actually read and respond to those excessively long comments?

I really have nothing to say, and I would like to use this platform to let everyone know that. I guess that means I did have something to say. That is, that I had nothing to say.
Hating
Ah, perfect target, perfect context, great hating. I am fulfilled.
Gavilan
Oh, and Gavilan, props for using the word "omphaloskeptical."
Yummsh!
And no to you too. Kevin James is the Cousin's Subs to most of the rest of TV's Subway Subs. Everyone goes to Subway, yet Cousin's is far superior.
Radiohead
If Tori Amos ever pulled off an album anywhere near as brilliant as OK Computer, I think all of us would be looking the other way right now. Radiohead can be forgiven for all of their faults just because of that CD.
Yummsh!
You live in a crap neighborhood. King of Queens rocks.
One last thing
I forgot to mention, while I do like Kevin James, I'm completely embarrassed that he's part of that movie.
curmudgeons
Well, there does need to be people who criticize bad culture in order to further good culture, but it's a very different thing to say that all things of a certain time period are better. This is what I call a curmudgeon.
G.G.
Haven't actually read any posts since I posted mine, will do so later, but I forgot to mention that I'm in complete agreement with "the middlebrow rules." I hate dumb, but I very much hate pretension.
