Yeeeee
That didn't happen. That just didn't happen. It was never filmed. It was never put on YouTube. It was never referenced on The Hater. I didn't see that.

Tinky and Sanjaya
They shall live forever!

I am absolutely loving this debate. Seriously.

Northern Exposure? No, it's Northern Exposure. Wait guys, I got it, it's Northern Exposure
Yes, all, we get it, it's probably an episode of Northern Exposure. Except that, well, I basically never watched Northern Exposure, and yet I remember this storyline. It's possible it's from something else as well. Like

Appropriate Rant
Guy Whitey Corngood: Wrong target, but very appropriate rant for the all-too-common comments like the one you thought you read.

Haikus
Haikus? Still? Now that's something that's deserving of Hater hate.

Deep Thoughts
"If you actually follow up on some of the speakers in the DVD none of them say you should just sit around and 'wish' for things. They encourage taking action. They only say that if you have a specific goal, the universe will help you achieve that goal."

It has to be said
I've held my tongue on this one for far to long: I HATED and HATE "Pulp Fiction" and was absolutely thrilled "Forrest Gump" beat it out. Sure, I would have been happier with a film other than Gump winning, but I disliked "Pulp Fiction" so much that had it came out the same year as "The English

Not Because It's Like City Slickers…
It's not that it's just kind of like City Slickers, it's that it's a complete rip-off of City Slickers, and probably a truly awful one at that.

Re: SouthofHeaven
SouthofHeaven… That was fantastic. So much so that it got me to post a comment that said nothing more than that. Cheers.

I'm Sorry
I have a confession to make. I joined in on the hate of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader," as it does signal decline of our society. However, I did not take into consideration the fact that, unlike "1 vs. 100," the show actually acknowledges the fact that the questions are very stupid. Don't get me

To be expected
Yup, I knew that given the topic, the comment strain would eventually turn into an overly serious discussion about country music, and turn into a bit of a red state/blue state argument.

Re: Do You All Realize
Tom, even though I believe I'm a target of your comment, it's sad but true. The AVClub would be wise to go back to requiring registration in order to comment. The "Norbit" comment strain is the closing argument on that one.

Snobbery
It's always sad when a show originally appeals to the hip, the hip realizes that the show is popular, and therefore many of the hip must continue along with being "hipper-than-thou," and trash what is actually good only because its somewhat popular.

Great? Maybe. Good? Maybe not.
I'd hold back on "Groundhog Day" and "Hudsucker Proxy" as being examples of "good" movies. While I love them, I know a lot of people who can't stand them. In place of Hudsucker, how about "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"?

Game Shows
No, no. "You Stupid? - The Game Show" is slated to air on NBC in about five years, as we slip ever more quickly towards the world of Idiocracy. It's set to follow the new reality show "He Disrespected Me."

Comment 50 or so…
Well, I guess this is comment 50 or so, and I'm wanting to comment on a comment at the beginning of the post. Oh, how worthless that will now be. Instead, for the two people who actually read this far:

Correction
I should probably mention that a number jurisdictions have a "substantial step" test for attempt crimes instead of the "overt act" test. The concept is basically the same.

Response to The Curse of Keon
In order to be charged/convicted of an attempt crime, beyond just thinking about committing a crime, the person has to perform an "overt act" in furtherance of that crime (some jurisdictions have different tests, but the idea is generally the same). In this case, the overt act would be

This is a joke, right?
Does this comment strain really exist? Please tell me I'm imagining it, or at the very least, that this is the result of Andy Kaufman coming back from the grave to mess with us. Otherwise, we might just want to rid ourselves of this Internet thing - it's hastening our travel towards
