I'll take you at your word because I assume you know what you're talking.  But for the record listener supported doesn't mean people don't get paid.  PBS is viewer supported, and they get paid.

I don't find any of what this guy said to be funny either.  The difference is I don't get paid to comment on the AV club.

I recommend it if you like cooking and have a family or a similar group of people to eat it (I take it to school and let my classmates buy a scoop.  I break even on food expenses and donate whatever excess I have to our student organization)
