Well, remember he's trying to undercut the Chilean cartels.  By starting the meth operation in Mexico, the Chilean cartels stand to lose a ton of money.  My theory is that he's the son of a cartel leader and is trying to crush his father… possibly because his father doesn't approve of him being gay.
