Oh, heh, that makes more sense. Sorry, I've found myself in arguments recently with fans (different show) who are inclined to take itty bitty grains and read them however they want, logic be damned, so pointing out the clearest explanation is becoming a bad habit.

That's… kind of the way it has to be, no? We haven't yet perfected mind-reading technology so we pretty much have to make judgements about what people think based on what they actually say. If he was just showing off, then he should probably still face some sort of consequence because someone without enough

I saw it as "You are an asshole and I'm not even going to dignify that with a response". I will admit I'm always inclined to go with the option that makes a character I like look better, and as far as I'm concerned that would be one of the best paths given the available options in that extremely odd conversation.

Eli wouldn't notice random people working the phones unless he needed someone else's shirt to take notes on.

Yes. It's a breakdown in perspective — he clearly doesn't think she's heavy (or care) but her freaking out at having it made crystal clear how big her jeans are on him made total sense to me.

This is pretty much what I saw. Mindy and Danny both have a habit of bickering and not being able to admit to weakness in front of the other.  It started out with Mindy saying that it would be creepy, but then Danny argued it wouldn't be, so Mindy admitting that she was the only one of them who thought it would be

The funny thing is that when I first saw Bonnie's reaction I assumed it was less in relation to the whole blood thing and more about the fact that Elena was hanging all over Damon who, last time I checked, isn't the one she's dating. That the vampire half of it was unpleasant, but not necessarily the initial shock.

Katherine's a lot older so it's possible that's why she can feed on other sources of blood; her increased power as a vampire is compensating for any doppelganger shenanigans. Trying to do that back when she was turned wouldn't have been possible because bagged blood is a fairly modern invention and Katherine was

I think it's probably connected to the fact that a comedy kind of lives or dies based on whether or not you have any affection for the main characters; the success of a joke so often depends on whether your sympathy falls with the teller or the target. The more they can reinforce the fact that the main character is

@SnorkJuice:disqus :  I do appreciate it when the lead in a comedy actually seems to be enjoying themselves and having fun. Sorry for jumping the gun, I think I've just seen it used a shorthand for 'terrible show' so many times I've gotten a little defensive. :-)
