I love this show! I think much of the controversy surrounding it has happened because people get too tied up in whether they like the characters or not. This show is about exposing fundamental truths about the lives of WASP girls and boys and their self delusions and misguided attempts at becoming adult-esque.

If I was Lauren, I'd at least try to seduce Lachlan in exchange for some holiday pies or something. She's just so unbelievably gay. Aren't most gay people used to pretending they're straight? Her gayness is such a handicap when it could be such a winning weapon. WEAPONIZED GAYNESS

Depends on what the government actually does. Do the people get taxed? Or is the government funded by private donors? It matters because the only reason you and I have a say in the government is because we pay taxes and "no taxation without representation" is a big deal at least in the US.

It definitely validates Amon, but it's never so simple. It's easier to take out a group of (let's call them "terrorists") terrorists that have stated and specific targets than it is to take out a bunch of terrorists who go after just anyone they can steal money from.
