So, I liked this in spite of its obvious roughness.  I liked the multi-levels of flashback.  That gdamn marilyn manson cover is way overused though, and there were a couple times where the main character was supposed to be making great intuitive leaps about the killer's motivation or something that just seemed off.

GAWD! she makes my lap hurt!

I think what made it look even better is that it was played right next to that new installment in the '* Movie #' franchise, forget which one, starring some wayans brother.

It's a little something I like to call a trailer..  it looked goofy as hell, but if you like that kinda-crammed-together-throwaway-joke-thing (as I do) then it was fat with promise…

awww damn, I thought that looked potentially funny

this is where my head went:

Yes, definitely, I think that was my only exposure to (good) jazz as a kid, though I didn't realize it for along time.  I've been putting together an uber playlist of instrumental stuff for background music for the family - soundtracks, classical, jazz, etc.

We play a shit-ton of Nilsson (Uncle 'Arry) for our kids, as well as tons of old stuff like Louis Armstrong, Ella, Duke Ellington, etc.   (Along with Beatles, TMBG and whatever else the wife and I are listening to.)

I heard this book compared to Terriers, which made me go get it at my local library.. it was pretty good.

I like how they throw those characters in there, and they sometimes I'm really surprised by which ones are dispatched so quickly, since their characters seem set up for the long haul.  This guy, and the dude from Dexter last season come to mind.

but, but.. GQ is pretty solid!

Downton Abbey Xmas:  The one thing that really bugged me about this one is all the witness testimony.  In order for the prosecution to know who to call to the stand and what to ask them (in order to bring forth details of the incriminating remarks Bates had made) they would've had to have WATCHED THE SHOW!!!   Every

That was my first thought - that the prosecutors/cops would had to have *seen the show* to know about all those barely overheard incriminating remarks.  Be kinda cool if they had him admit to doing it at some point though.

DAMMIT PATRICE!!
