This partially explains why the Mother is a grad student in her 20s, so that the actress won't age too quickly to film another long-running series.

I love Elementary, and I especially love Lucy Liu's performance, but I knew what we were getting. CBS + police procedural = no Emmy love besides title cards and music

I read somewhere that the first 5 episodes form an arc called "Faith" and that the next arc will be called "Fear." The show can only get better, right?

Haven't read the book, but the way that Junior keeps chaining Angie's ankle to the corner like that makes me think that they're foreshadowing her tricking him into getting closer and then wrapping the chain around his neck until he gives her the key (or killing him, ideally). I'd like to see what that would do to her

Somewhat relevant, but Carrie Preston was snubbed for Guest Performer in a Drama for the Good Wife. Elsbeth Tascioni deserves all the awards.

Walder Frey: Let me see that wife of yours. Dude! She's hot! Respect. It's all cool.

First two seasons of Community and last two seasons of Happy Endings, my two favorite sitcoms along with Cougar Town and HIMYM, as a writer and producer? I just may have to follow Winston for the rest of her career

You know, it's really unlikely, but since it isn't on the schedule yet and it's only for six episode, the CW could plug Nikita in on a weeknight to fill a hole. Like if Reign completely collapsed and was pulled from the schedule the way Cult was, I can see the CW slotting Nikita there in January or something instead

The finale was incredible. Liu, Miller, and Dormer killed it. I got chills when Dormer spoke in her natural British accent.

I'm really angry that Jeremy is alive. Before he died the actors were all teasing a major, permanent death. Bringing him back as an occasional ghost or what not is fine, but to so blatantly resurrect dead characters has completely numbed me of any attachment to dramatic stakes. Why should I care about any deaths from

Perhaps Reign has a supernatural element to it? The description mentions "dark forces". I can also see it appealing to TVD crowd in the sense that if you look at any promotional image for TVD, everyone is dolled up in ridiculous costumes trying to look dark and sexy.

Yeah, the difficulty will be keeping the island flashbacks compelling when a freaking earthquake device went off in the Glades. Since Manu Bennett was upped to a series regular, I think it's pretty likely that he shows up in present day Starling City sooner rather than later with Shado possibly doing so too.

I've noticed Mamie Gummer's pilot hasn't been picked up by CBS and the CW likes to keep actresses in-house. Come on, Supernatural's casting agent, you know you want Emily Owens, Demon Queen!

NO SHUT UP THEIR LOVE IS ETERNAL NEVER FORGET THE PIZZA MAN

Here's hoping they do a better job of recasting Abaddon (who I really liked) than they did with Ruby. God I miss blonde Katie Cassidy. Sadly, Laurel on Arrow will have to do.

Maybe it was an attempt at corporate synergy? Watch out, the CW is trying to be the next ABC.

I mean, the show will get at least four seasons for syndication and probably way more given the state of the CW. They didn't need to reveal who Fryers' boss was so much as maybe include another small teaser. I'm glad they left the island open-ended though so that they can plan for future arcs, including the

I'm a little worried that the saxophone might be Arrow's equivalent to HIMYM's pineapple

@avclub-24f6f7a488efc0455e1cb95aea962bed:disqus Much like how last week should have been titled "Who the Hell is Felicity Smoak Part 1", this week could have been "Who the Hell is Roy Harper Part 2"

This finale was perfect. When even Thea is less annoying than usual, you know the episode is awesome. Before the episode, I would have guessed Detective Lance dies along with Shado and that the device would easily be stopped. But damn, Arrow, you just keep on keeping on.
