I don't dispute that the vampires are evil, but I guess I consider serial killer to be a term of art that refers to a specific sociopathic need to kill in a certain way or a certain type or both. Vampires are not serial killers. They feed to live. They obviously don't need to kill in order to feed, but are evil and

Tara's question about vampires sleeping in the ground last episode indicates to me that she's not comparing notes with Sookie on what is real and what is myth with vampires. Her anti-vampire dating stance would be consistent with that, but I too was hoping for a revocation of the invitation as soon as the duct tape

I know that they've also established that vampires that nest together tend to be more eeeevil and such. But here's the thing. If you're immature with your finances, you go into debt or live paycheck to paycheck or get foreclosed upon, etc. If they're immature and sloppy with their feeding, they get staked. These

I know there is a visual appeal of sorts to the whole blood dripping thing, but it takes me out of the show, from Eric letting werewolf blood spread all over Sookie's rug, to blood pooling under the limo at the end.

love Charlie Huston
his Joe Pitt vampire series and Hank Thompson trilogy are the tits. I have the signs of death book, but haven't gotten to it yet. Very cool news.

on stolen ideas
a play write I met once told me that you can either be a person who sues folks for ideas you think were stolen, or you can find work. I guess we can all be thankful that HC has decided to be the suing kind of entertainer. We're guaranteed to see less of him.

my enjoyment of anti-heroes
has led to, maybe not true fights, but frustrating dismissals by my current girlfriend. She sees things like The Shield, Dexter, Breaking Bad, as merely serialized soap opera television with despicable people doing despicable things to each other. She walked out of Resevoir Dogs seeing it

I'm sorry, but without giving a summation of the sides taken, I can only assume that you enjoy both apocalypse now and dr. phil.

I saw Superman Returns in an IMAX with my kids, who have no discernable taste in movies and think everything is great (I blame divorce and my limited time with them for this deficiency in their cultural education). They thought it was boring. 'nuff said.

you could get the references out of Meet the Spartans if all you did was pay attention to trailers for the other movies they reference. That still won't me watch either MtS or 90% of the referential movies.

were you making her cry?

my girlfriend's sister is about as old as my mom, which kind of makes her like my mom, and she watched 2&1/2 men as we ll. So do we. I tolerate it, and while I agree it's not good, I'm sometimes amused by the drunk jokes (like evel above I appreciate a drunk without special episode consequences). It is not the

I have much love for my Arnold movies, and while some specifics are arguable:
1. Terminator
2. Conan the B
3. Predator
4. Total Recall
5. the rest kind of blend, but I can't say I haven't enjoyed parts or segments of all of them, even the bad ones.

that "emotional vulnerability" stood out to me as well for being both sexist in thinking that this is what women bring to the table just because they're women, and because I don't know how funny emotional vulnerability is, which might make it, I don't know, inappropriate for a comedy show.

I'm a bit behind in my Daily Show and usually let my Attack of the Show self delete from the dvr, so I also didn't know Munn had joined the Daily Show until catching last week's segment about the Russian spies. She was ok. With decent writing, which should not be a problem, and a bit of time, she should be ok. If

so what, their pants shift but shirts don't? I'm twilight ignorant, and more blissful for it I"m sure.

I regretfully contributed to M. Night's windfall by taking my kids to this. My kids, who love theater and plays and music but still have little discerning taste when it comes to movies, thought it could have been better. For my son to criticize a movie means it sucked. I had to sit through it and yes, it sucked.

reading the quote
just makes me think of Howard and Raj trying to pick up goth girls in TBBT and making all their "dark" references.

for songs, "Summertime Rolls" by Jane's Addiction. Been listening to it for over 20 years and it still shifts me emotionally and amplifies whatever good or bad has been going through my head.

just nuke'em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
