OK, see ya next year folks!

Two what, though?

Yeah Westworld failed on a lot of counts, but ambition wasn't one of them.

It makes doubly no sense because January is such a fallow period for pop culture and film in particular.

Westworld sure was daring—

Shocked to see that the film winner is the prestige movie that's been in wide-release the longest.

Jurassic World is pretty passable, though.

This is such half-assed criticism.

"So you want to do a prolonged interview about my culpability in several murders? No I'm not worried about incriminating mys—hang on, I need another bump."

Jesus Christ why does everything need to be a competition.

Yeah they sure are prestigious.

This is only a 2014 cut, but my favourite film that I saw this year was Clouds of Sils Maria.

Oh damn if this is going to turn into a Wire's Best Scene argument I gotta stump for The One True Choice:

I'll disagree, because I'm sure you're thinking about it in retrospect instead of where it's placed for a first-time watcher. People talk about The Wire teaching you how to watch it, and this is Exhibit A.

"Robocop" is one of his best tunes.

Lol ok this is just 100% wrong.

As always, there are only three (3) acceptable Christmas pop songs:

You're obviously forgetting about The Jimmy Stewart Incident of '54.

Nobody ever remembers Crackle…

Mackenzie Davis just feels like a superstar waiting to happen. She's outstanding in everything; even in a bit part in The Martian, she's the most electric thing on screen.
