There was a ton of information to convey here, but for me, the biggest problem (info-wise) was understanding the bigature version of the park in the control room was a holographic representation, or whatever—and not the actual park itself.

This movie blew me away. I would have watched a 10-hour cut—and based on the loose improvisation feel of the film, I'm sure such a thing exists.

The thing about Birth of a Nation is, well… It isn't actually that great.

Yeah. I assume Martin will finish the books, and if so they'll absolutely remain the definitive telling of the story. But if he doesn't, and Brian of House Sanderson (sorry I couldn't think of a better joke than that) steps in to finish the series, do the shows become The Text?

Has that version of the Stark sigil shown up in other published materials? I know the show's version doesn't fit the in-book description but that looks like a lame ass dog begging for a treat, not "a grey direwolf running on a white field".

Real, live-action people will be doing the reimagining.

They should definitely time travel forward to see if their movie will turn out good instead of just making it as good as they can at the time.

Yeah I also want to preface this by saying I don't think my opinion means very much (and that I'm mostly playing devil's advocate to begin with). You're kind of making two arguments here, and I'm interested in both of them.

So maybe this is the wrong space to mention it, because the article is great news and I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but it also seems like a great place to get a large sample of responses, so here goes:

Is the broken link on that "tough questions are coming from unexpected places" intentional? Because it's great.

Haven't read them yet but aren't the last two books essentially just split volumes without endings?

Yeah this isn't surprising for a dude who repeatedly references entire histories of the Targaryen dynasty every other chapter. Of course he has thousands of pages of background history, or else none of his conversations would make sense.

Storm of Swords! I'm excited to get to some of the really crazy stuff I loved about S3 and S4 and really enjoying the way the butterfly effect has broadened and produced real differences between the show and novel.
