The season has been pretty weird and off-putting compared to the others. But I think it still carries a dark comedic vibe which I dig. The direction has definitely been a lot more artistic; which can be nauseating to some. But I like it.

I look forward to the comments than the review. People have such diverse takes on the show yet we're all on the same page.
I agree with this. I think the show was just simply showing a life without wife and kids and drama. Seen through the unusual eyes of Todd Barry's fictional self. I don't think we're supposed to feel sorry for him. I mean, he's dickish in his other appearances but he's seemingly happy with his life.
I forgot whether or not the last few episodes had stand up footage and the usual closing theme. I'm glad these episodes did. I don't know. I love the music. Such a sweet and perfect theme. It works so well with the mood of the show.
And the supposed fact that he's dating Cecily Strong is an outrage on par with human trafficking. Slight exaggeration.
Same here. It's comforting to watch an old episode for some weird reason.
I had no idea this show existed until I started seeing re-runs of it airing before Frasier on the Hallmark channel. I saw Brent Weinbach on an episode last night! That was surprising.
That moment made me yell "Ohh shit!" out loud to myself. And it was great
I enjoyed this episode like a hot cup of delicious coffee.
I was happy Andy got his own plot in the episode. I kind of missed seeing him in action. It was great that he ended up being the next person to find out about Duke Silver. The joke where the only good saxophonist he could think of was the one from the California Raisins cracked me up.
I don't want to know any of this.
This episode seemed way more jarring than the others this season. I only got a few genuine laughs (Tom's realization that he's going to die someday was hilarious).
I'm relieved the episode didn't go down the usual route where Diaz would suddenly become jealous. They should avoid that story for awhile but I really hope they revisit it soon. There was a lot of hope set up for Boyle when he truth bombed her. It would be a shame if it just ended right there. I have confidence that…
This is respectable criticism. I agree with you on certain points. Every show starts showing it's cracks but I, like you, am optimistic. The show definitely reveals it's strength by not crumbling completely - which is damn impressive.
I don't understand the criticism that the show's been getting. I'm too attached to these wonderful characters to just simply say "the show sucks now" and watch it with contempt and bitterness. Yes, there's weaker and stronger seasons but goddamn it - I love this fucking show.
The show should continue to do this. Remember when The Office tried to explain why there were cameras filming everyone? and how horrible it was? Fuck that
I cracked up when she started coughing. McKinnon is fucking hilarious
Oh no. She called me Terrance.
Yes. Definitely
