Yeah I had a chalk job as well. I think in most cases they knew it was chalked, but it was close enough for plausible deniability on their part. And for the sort of bar that trafficked in the under 21 crowd, they totally paid off the local cops to give them a heads up about raids.

I had mine "chalked" during freshman year in college back when you could still do that with NYS Under 21 licenses (just color over the big red UNDER 21 in the upper right corner to match regular licenses, and switch all the 77s to 71s). Also probably helped that I had ratty goatee (it was the mid-90's after all).

I hope Jersey voters say no. If Jersey City gets a casino, Cuomo wants to expand the casino licenses to NYC as a countermeasure. Since that would drain away the already meager business the Upstate casinos (many of which seem doomed to be busts already) might get.

The polls on that race have been all over the place. they've both been back and forth within the margin of error for months. No clue who'll win it tomorrow, but if Teachout does pull it out I'd be shocked if she can get re-elected in 2018 with lower turn-out.
