That's pretty believable. They may have thought it'd be a harmless protest vote to scare [the EU/elites/Cameron/that Pole down the block they don't like the looks of/etc.] by being close, but not actually pass and have consequences.

Are we talking original flavor or that vile cherry flavored shit? Cause I honestly enjoy the former.

Honestly, at home I prefer mixing a flavored seltzer with gin instead of a true G&T. Even following the ratios in my cocktail book I can never get the ratios right so that I can't taste the earwax like flavor of tonic water. But a good bar will be able to make a proper G&T for me.
