Wow, she's 59? She looks great.

One of my favorite lines of the series. Right up there with one of my favorites from the Sopranos, "Remember when is the lowest form of conversation."
I guess episode by episode coverage of this was too much to ask. I get it, I'm just happy you guys reviewed it at all. *Sob*
I dunno, my parents' house had shag carpeting, which was great for its time. I look at those old photos fondly. My toes still remember the sensation. But that doesn't mean I want it in my house today. Time was people thought Jello casserole was actual food. And so on…
Fuck you for reminding me that this decade is half over. What am I doing with my life? I've been commenting here since 2009 and I remember the last time they did the best of the decade (books, movies, tv). And now we're halfway there again. My brother has kids now. FUCK TIME. FUCK IT IN ITS ASSHOLE.
I don't know if I agree with that. If you get people to think about your *issues*, it doesn't really matter what they think of you. People hated Occupy toward the end, mocked them as the Tea Party of the left, said they had no ideas and…it still got people talking about income inequality and put "the 1%" into the…
Butterfly doors, not suicide doors. For shame!
"Fairfax district is where Cobain and Courtney Love holed up"
Well, shit. No way I can justify flying to LA from New York for the weekend. Been wanting to go back west for a while but not on such short notice. Goddamn it, film shit in New York!
Leaving aside what I think of his acting ability, Brandon Lee definitely died too young, and that is tragic. No disrespect to him, but I just never thought he was much of an actor, and while I greatly admire Alex Proyas, I just don't think much of The Crow. I suppose it doesn't help that every goth kid and his twin…
"3 to 8 posts expressing my anger at Timothy Olyphant for cock blocking the amount of screen time Gutterson actually got"
They kick ass live. Shame they don't get more love.
I think even "replied" is just clutter most of the time. But that's just me. If you can figure out who's talking without a "he said" or "he replied," (like if you've already established who's talking when) you shouldn't use it. Use it when it would be otherwise ambiguous, but usually it's only necessary once every…
""Said" is about as invisible as "and"—yes, use it eight times in four lines and it's going to be distracting, but use it when necessary and it's not even noticeable."
Using "yelled" is certainly preferable to all-caps (I'm looking at you, JK Rowling). Whispered is also something that can't be easily conveyed via the dialogue itself.
This new season of Community with Harmon is nigh unwatchable
nay, it was extremely similitude
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I didn't like it, but the atmosphere, the look, it just felt so right.
Some people just need to embrace their natural facial structure. It seems like people are losing an unnatural amount of weight to give the illusion of having good cheekbones. Sadly, I've always been more Kanye West than Guy Pearce, even when I was athletic and at a healthy weight. You just gotta own who you are.
The movie sucked though, so that's an inauspicious comparison. I lived in Miami at the time, and I was surprised because I felt like Mann captured the "mood" perfectly (I usually think horror movies nail mood more than any other genre) but that was the only good thing about it.
