Which is funny, since it's on FX. The network that's given us Sunny and Archer (and almost everyone I know watches those), and Justified, which is less watched but still popular in my circles.

Now that's a cogent argument.

Matthew Rhys deserves a fucking Emmy. I guess they're too busy snubbing Jon Hamm and giving Emmys to Jeff Daniels for Aaron Sorkin shitfests to recognize Rhys. And Russell and Emmerich for that matter.

I mean, I strongly dislike House of Cards. I still watch it, because it (very, very, very rarely) will impress me, but also, the damn thing is so popular and I want to stay plugged into the zeitgeist. Also, it allows me to have an informed conversation when someone makes the laughable claim that it's the best TV show

Shit dude, if you have a coronary when people like a show you don't, I can't imagine your reaction to real stressors and slights.

I'm much more pissed about dramas fizzling out (like, as I was talking about on some other thread yesterday, Oz). It always retroactively sours me on the rest of the show's run. Here, I'm happy to pretend that certain seasons never happened. I don't know exactly why it's so much easier.

I'm not sure where the shot at a vanishingly small portion of Democratic voters comes in when I'm talking about the Congressional caucus. Despite the vocal Elizabeth Warren lovers (who, if we're being honest, is hardly "left-wing," and only appears so in the context of American politics), and shit like Occupy a couple

"Maoist Left" eh? OK then, didn't realize I was dealing with that type…

They have to have uses for people besides as field agents. If she doesn't have the skin for what her parents do, she can still most likely find a more low key thing to do. Maybe she can be more of an Arkady or Oleg type than the fake marrying FBI employees and seducing minors and kidnapping people in front of diners

Well, Jimmy Carter was to the right of the median Democrat in Congress at the time, so I wouldn't call him a liberal either. I would call him conservative if it were modifying Democrat, as in, conservative Democrat.

Sometimes you just don't appreciate a song until it's used well in a movie or show. I never liked The Cure but that season 1 finale is great

I guess I'm just used to my favorite characters being killed off in dramas.

He does sound like he always has a stuffy nose. I've seen his brother in other things and he doesn't have a weird voice. It makes him even funnier though.

Yeah, it's really remarkable to me just how well Bad Religion holds up after all these years. I can't really say that about many of the other punk bands I was into as a kid.

I forgot how good they are. I was really into them when I was in high school (first album was Against the Grain, then I got Recipe for Hate) then they sort of dropped off my radar. I'll defer to the AV Club on this, but I can't believe Against the Grain doesn't crack the top 5.

"He touched Kenny's penis" will always be my favorite line from that show.

It's definitely a valid reason to dock points, though. And the falling apart in the last couple seasons certainly doesn't help Oz when it comes to the inevitable Sopranos comparisons. For my money, 6B was the best season of The Sopranos, period. When a show ends poorly though, it's really hard for it not to

I kept waiting for him to get shanked and then…nope.

Isn't that just Dean Winters' regular voice? Maybe I watched them too far apart, but to me he sounded exactly the same on 30 Rock.

He was also hilarious in the otherwise meh Ladykillers, that justifiably forgotten Coen brothers remake.
