There were also Mad Men parodies everywhere, and Jon Hamm was on SNL like every other week. It's still a great show, but it's very conspicuously waned in terms of cultural relevance.

I think you can also watch Mad Men just for fun, but there are much, much fewer people who are able to. My sister works in fashion and so loves watching the show for the superb costume design.

I dunno, I find the constant brooding and existential angst of Mad Men a lot more tolerable. Mostly because it matches up with my temperament, but also because it's a lot more emotionally consistent. Breaking Bad was very much a roller coaster that way.

…I'm rewatching Mad Men. But that's because it's not plot-driven, so I can barely remember what happened during the first few seasons.

Completely agreed. I actually though the premiere was really good but it sort of dragged on a little. Then I was kind of bored until the merger. Then I was mildly stimulated until the back end of the season.

The "in crowd" I know is all about GoT. They get people to watch it, and then once they watch it, they lord over their ASOIAF book-reading knowledge. It's a trap, I tell you.

Give me a good plotless show over a plot-driven show that isn't about a goddamn thing (like, House of Cards) any day.

I used to agree, but the older I get, the less Mad Men and other "slow burn" movies/TV bore me.

I've seen ads on buses, but I didn't notice the date, I was so fixated on the weird artwork.

Game of Thrones has to be the most popular drama that people are douchey about. I think it makes the ASOIAF reading neckbeards ragestroke deep down about how their secret fantasy series is mainstream now.

I agree. Mad Men is a welcome respite from all the plot driven dramas on television.

Speaking of awards, I can't believe the Emmys have snubbed Mad Men when it comes to acting awards.

I think Mad Men is the perfect post-GoT show to watch. Kind of like how I used to watch whatever was on the Disney Channel after watching a horror movie. Shows like Breaking Bad or GoT are too intense a lot of the time to go to sleep right after watching. Mad Men doesn't leave me with racing thoughts about what's

I also think they killed of Danny Crowe 1 or 2 episodes too early.

Alana, when Hannibal says he wants to eat you, he doesn't mean it that way…

Letterman remade the late night talk show in his image. I can't imagine anybody but Colbert who has the talent to do the same.

I don't care if Jon Stewart leaves the Daily Show. But if Colbert leaves the Report I will be devastated.

Was anyone else touched by Wynn Duffy's affection for Mikey?

Inconvenient Boogaloo

In his early scenes first season, I thought the guy playing Gaad was a terrible actor. Just really awkward line delivery imo. But he was great in this episode.
