I think it was suggested that everyone thought it was totally gross that the Targaryens did that. Or maybe it's frowned upon now *because* it was such a big Targaryen thing.

Milk of the poppy was a bad choice…

This deserves more likes!

I went from hoping Ned killed Jaime back in that confrontation they had to actually rooting for Jaime.

Yeah they're really dragging that shit out. Although to be fair, Yunkai and Meereen is as interesting as Dany's story gets for a while after. I presume most of Season 5 and 6 will be her sitting around with her thumb up her ass

It seems like Dany's storyline is really rocketing along, and given the episode titles: "Second Sons" and "Mhysa," it seems like they might play out the Dany storyline from ASoS. Since they're splitting the book into two seasons, does that mean we would get an entire season without Emilia Clarke? Because fuck that.

It's a very innocent sounding title if you haven't read A Storm of Swords, but it's a dead giveaway for anyone who has. I may not watch that episode, actually, because I found it depressing enough when I read it.

@avclub-617673dbba933fa984fcbaacf2c68413:disqus Right, but as Jorah said to Dany-Aegon the Conqueror didn't conquer Westeros because it was his by rights (paraphrasing) but because he could. The Targaryen claim just goes back farther than the Baratheon claim, so it *seems* more legit from a hereditary perspective.

So I assume Gendry = Edric Storm? Not literally, they're both in the books, but Gendry is the bastard we know, one less actor to pay, easier to consolidate characters (especially since they're both Robert's bastards, easy enough).

This is pablum

No!!! I want my life sanitized for me! Mommy!

Re the Lannisters not taking the throne-I can totally dig a schemer like Tywin not wanting to take the throne. Sometimes it's easier to wield power/influence at the margins and in the shadows than in such a high profile position.

I got what they were going for, but I think we all got the idea. It seemed redundant and heavy-handed, especially coming right off the heels of such a powerful monologue.

@avclub-8a5c1121fe24ecbeab48c97b07dec712:disqus If I'm Jaime, that's not really a compelling reason. If people are *already* calling me an oathbreaker, then fuck it, give them the middle finger and get married.

@avclub-7e1ce4ce3124fd9ecc13a151afcff11b:disqus Eh, Ser Loras already has a title. If I were him (and straight), I'd much rather bop Cersei, and I'd rather marry into the richest family in Westeros than have a connection to a cold as shit place in the North. Lord of Winterfell? Yeah, I'd like to be King, but if the

@avclub-1d392d6cd50709b355aa35602cb1b7cc:disqus Yeah a Cersei/Loras marriage almost seems too perfect. Cersei just wants Jaime insider her, Loras just wants to lance squires. Neither is going to want sex from the other. Cersei only has eyes for Jaime-if she has to be married again, can't ask for any more than a gay

Masuka spinoff? Who wouldn't watch that? Miami Metro's *other* deeply disturbed and depraved forensics guy. And as a dark comedy? That would be Dexter with a little Californication. There have to be a couple million sick fucks who'll watch that.

Seems funny to me. Acting-wise, Michael C. Hall blows everyone else on the show out of the water (excepting maybe Lithgow, Smits, Miller). And Dexter's really the only interesting character the show actually bothered to develop who isn't dead (excepting maybe Deb). Who's going to watch a show called Deborah?

Who gives a flying fuck if the unacquainted are chased away? The show's been off the air since 2005, and on Hulu and Netflix for years, and this Netflix renewal stuff has created a lot of buzz. Even if it flops, it's already set and there probably won't be another season. In terms of Netflix's bottom line it might be

I recognized Lewis right away so there was never any chance of his accent "fooling" me. But I was blown away (see what I did there?) when I found out that the actor who plays Estes is British.
