Karl is funny whatever he does. Ricky definitely enjoys torturing Karl (and other  friends like Robin Ince and Nigel the editor) and assumes everyone else will love it just as much as he does

He became the very things he used to parody in his XFM days. Even the good people at Pilkipedia who have loved him in the past (of which I am one) can barely stand his public persona now.

Although that was more specifically a spoof on current affairs shows. They also did a show called The Hollowmen about policy advisers to politicians which was brilliant
