@avclub-e3f5ab7f02122f95b801e13e2c586d6a:disqus — You probably are thinking of Cedar Point, like @avclub-9d9fb789a27aa62db7511f14660acf86:disqus said. Kings Island does have several pretty kickass coasters (okay, maybe three or four), but Cedar Point is generally considered to be Coaster Heaven by those who designate…
I think there were about thirty episodes of The Andy Griffith Show where some doo-gum from the Big City drops in on Mayberry and Learns A Valuable Lesson about stuff, so here are a couple suggestions from that subgenre:
@avclub-72085404bc24959bbd79392bc8ad27d0:disqus : They're now soulless, personality-less, cookie-cutter, could be anywhere Cedar Fair parks. (Well, that's not totally fair—I've only been going to one regularly; the others may be as good as ever.) Seriously, for those interested—check out the changes that took place…
Ye Gods, I miss the Paramount theme parks.
This show really seemed to be a kind of low-rent version of Solitary, a game show I remember with much fondness from, of all things, Fox Reality Channel. (And, what the heck, TV Club Classic coverage of Solitary!) Once I started to accept the fact that pretty much everything said in the "confessionals" was scripted,…
Ugh. I was out of town over the weekend, and apparently, without any notification, the cable service I'm shackled to because of my current living situation dropped (by my count) 12 channels in the past couple days, including (arguably most significantly) BBC America. So, I'm trying to find out what kind of channel…
I missed the personal spelling bee storytime on the actual National Spelling Bee comment thread, so here goes:
Or, y'know, assuming you're on the site, hover over the link before clicking on it to see what the article is all about. (For me, the address pops up in the lower-left corner of the screen. Just sayin'. It's how I know the latest AD notification came from the roundtable about Fawlty Towers.)
The lesson here: Doctor Who, please please please stay out of 1930s Manhattan.
Apropos of very little, one of my best friends gave birth yesterday, and named her new son Oliver. I'm reasonably certain it had nothing to do with this show, but it just made me think about the whole circle of life thing. Newborns, man.
I been lurking round these boards since nigh on to the pilot, and commentin' off and on since then, I reckon. 'Spose I only became what y'd call a "reg'lar" 'round the time of the great 100K chase of dickety-'leventeen, though, if'n y'd call me a "reg'lar" 'tall.
Draculae…Draculeaux…and as I go, I love to sing, my knapsack on my back.
As someone who hasn't watched a complete season in…probably six or seven years now, I'm pretty sure that there would have been would have been at least some localized outrage if the winners had been Team Villain. (Or, as my wife has been astutely calling them for the last few weeks, "the bimbo and the douchebag".)
Literally the only promotional image from Iron Man 3.
The series kept me coming back, that's for sure. Adieu, Nabin.
*"Don't You Forget About Me" swells on the soundtrack*
I just can't believe Reno 911! notifications stiff exist, or that I ever signed up for them. (I enjoyed the series, of course, I just don't remember ever following it here.)
Ugh, seriously. Love "The Carousel Waltz", love "You'll Never Walk Alone", but favorite musical, nay. Shenanigans.
Thanks for these reviews—whatever form the reviews of the next season take, I only hope they're as in-depth and incisive as these have been on an episode-by-episode basis. Personally, I kind of hope the reviews aren't more than maybe two per week—I don't necessarily think there was a lot in these episodes to unpack,…
