It has some great songs on it, but like Earthling you have to really look for it. Spaceboy, Heart's Filthy Lesson, Strangers When We Meet, are all good on their own. Then some good songs and ideas get stuck in that abysmal plot.

I remember him talking about the process of making the album on Late Night with Conan. He then played an acoustic version of "Seven Years in Tibet" that made me genuinely angry he layered all the noise on top of it. The song is good anyway, but stripped of that it has a sad immediacy. I also hear an acoustic…
The babe.
The only thing this series has going for it this season is forward momentum, so the any break really puts a stop to that. It forces us to think a little. Thinking while watching a show like this breaks it's spell.
Problem is most people only know Randy Newman from Pixar and being mocked on South Park. Not as a biting satirist and provocative lyricist

Tom Hanks' heart is breaking. He's the nicest man in showbiz, and he trusted your show to be real! Look what you've done to him. I hope your happy!

It really is quite a spectacular book. Difficult, yes, but more than worth the work. Bolano is at his best when grappling with the horrors of the late 20th Century Lantin American Experience, and 2666 uses one of the more horrific stories from there as it's launching point.

If you like Nazi Literature you should definitely read Distant Star, a reworking of the last entry in that book. He turns it into a disturbing little novella. The man sets up just enough to make the big reveal among the most disturbing things I've read even though he doesn't reveal much.

A sustained take on the Mirror Sketch at that. Many sitcoms and sketches have done it, but K&P had the same gags but managed to put an original spin on it. I never thought I'd be complementing someone on copying another sketch.

Whenever I read a synopsis of this show it comes across as if someone found unused scripts for Garth Marenghi's Darkplace but thought it was the next series of Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom.

I made a video just like that for 8 dollars in a booth at 6 Flags in 1993. I think I have a VHS of it.
