One of the early S6 episodes had better be rescuing Dan from his Hell Loop. Like, THE first episode. Possibly with the help of Mister Said Out Bitch.

I have to echo the total gut-punch that this episode turned out to be. After Naked and Afraid, I thought we were more or less done on the Dan character arc for the season; that the show went there was a total blind-side - and seeing the reactions of even Maze and Lucifer added a layer of emotion to it.
I think Tammy Faye also spent hours in makeup to get that Tammy Faye look.
Definitely Ella.
This is one of the great things about Bosch and Insecure, they both make LA look amazing and neither focus on the overused areas like Beverly Hills.
“Who, when you look up to the sky, would you feel best about being in charge of the universe?”
A master indeed. Ace in the Hole is one of his absolute greatest works.
Billy Wilder was a master. He had a special talent for finding just the right mix of comedy and tragedy. It’s amazing that he directed most of his films in his third language.
I mean Ferb is clearly the brains of the operation but he is not great with the conversation.
It’s going to be Chloe, right? That’s why she was created?
One other thing I forgot to mention in my comment below, is... I believe G-d’s last direct interaction with one of His creations (a human) in our universe is to tell Ella how special she is. He intentionally did that, he went to her.
Several things on this episode, but let’s start here:
Fingers crossed that’s a season six gimmick episode.
I don’t know about heaven, but I think Dr. Linda should become the new queen of hell
It doesn’t hurt to ask but if your ‘lizard brain’ is telling you something about sex then it’s almost definitely doing it so you can get your rocks off and nothing else.
“I like you a lot but I’m not romantically interested in you”.
The world needs more honesty.
Overstuffed is definitely the right word for this episode, but that doesn’t make me love it less, just perhaps frustrated that this season definitely could have done with two more episodes. (I think that everyone at Netflix agreed, and that’s why we’re getting a little bit longer season 6.)
I was fooled throughout the entire episode until the improv guy was shot. But come on, weird things happen on this show... so yeah. But even once the improv guy was shot, my immediate thought was God as well. Made no sense, but I knew it wasn’t real.
Chloe realizing that their case of the week always analogizes to Lucifer’s celestial problem of the week, and using it to is to diagnose what Lucifer won’t tell her, is such a delightful instance of “lampshading”. It’s particularly clever because the audience is exhausted with Chloe and Lucy being separated by simple…
“Nothing’s ever good enough for you. ‘Why don’t you have a desk?’ ‘Why doesn’t your car have a roof?’ ‘Why is your kitchen just a wall of scotch?’”
