Look, it takes a certain degree of courage to put one's art out in the world, even art that the general consensus says is garbage. And it can really fucking hurt when you basically put your soul on display and society at large takes a dump on it. How people choose to deal with that hurt is certainly worth examining,…
Sorry, I'm a straight-up Gen X-er, and I'm also exhausted with mockery, so it's not just a generational thing.
The cherry on this whole sundae is that it turns out the person who took the photo in the tweeted image is a Cypriot refugee, and that it was used without his permission:
Wait, so people are really into bacon?
1-2-3-4!
REED IS THE DJ WE CALL THE CONDUCTOR 'CAUSE MR. FANTASTIC'S A BAD MOTHER-(record scratch)
Oh, for real…ESPECIALLY compared to alcohol, which is "worse" in just about every respect (what it does to your body, what it does to your personality, how it can actually, you know, kill you, etc.).
Cool story, bros:
Ugh, one of the reasons I hopped off the PC gaming train and moved to consoles was because I got tired of constantly upgrading and enjoyed only having to buy a new system once every 5 years or so. Now, we're doing "Pro" versions mid-generation? That sucks.
Yeah, I am. I've yet to find a set of Bluetooth headphones that are both affordable and capable of excellent audio quality. Meanwhile, wired options of that nature are all over the place.
Earbuds are the devil and have somehow convinced humanity that music should sound tinny and shitty.
I guess the problem for me is audio quality. I have yet to see an affordable set of audiophile-quality Bluetooth headphones. If anyone has any recommendations, I'm (WAIT FOR IT) all ears.
I have only ever been on the Reddit subs for music festivals I'm attending and a few bands I like. It's been an entirely positive experience, which is why I will never, ever further explore the site so as to maintain the illusion that it's not the festering cesspool it actually is.
But, again, if he really, truly, at that time, thought it was the end, why not act accordingly? Like, if you were quitting your job, and you wanted to organize a big night out at a bar with your coworkers to bid bon voyage, would you think to yourself, "Maybe I *shouldn't* do this, since I might come back to this job…
I don't know what's so dramatic about the comeback. He made an announcement, they played a bunch of kick-ass shows, and now they're making another record. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.
Probably? I dunno - given that what I got in return for my business was two hours of one of the best live music performances I've ever seen, I don't think I feel too badly about the transaction.
I dunno. Again, if he was fully convinced at the time that he intended to stay retired, that doesn't make it a fake out. I mean, look, if he was sitting in his lair, tenting his fingers and cackling to himself, "The FOOLS! They purchase my DVD as if I'm never coming back, but the joke's on them! MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"…
WHAT IF HE THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO RETIRE, THEN, AFTER LIVING IN THAT REALITY FOR A WHILE, REALIZED HE DIDN'T PREFER IT AND CHANGED HIS MIND? I AM AMAZED AT ALL THE PEOPLE MAD AT THIS WHO HAVE APPARENTLY NEVER CHANGED THEIR MIND ABOUT ANYTHING EVER BEFORE. WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?
Maybe! I'm just saying that they are capable of doing something other than pissing people off.
