My favorite quote from the film is one of the quieter moments: When Max is trying to convince Furiosa that the only real choice is to go back to the Citadel, and he says, "Look, it'll be a hard day." I laughed out loud at the understatement in both the dialogue and the delivery. Great stuff.

Creed and Straight Outta Compton is where I might start.

First, you leave Oscar Isaac disco dancing out of your list of Best Scenes, and now you leave Ex Machina off this list. AV CLUB I AM DISAPPOINT.

I guess I'm having a fairly different experience - I kind of like the Knight crew. Cas Anvar's accent is pretty bad, but otherwise, I feel like they're doing a decent job, and I like Steven Strait more than I expected I would when his casting was announced. I think these characters are going to grow on people pretty

Yeah, agreed…and kind of perplexing. A generic southern accent is one of the easiest to pull off for most American English-speakers. They couldn't have just sent the guy to Kentucky for a week prior to shooting?

I am arguing with you!

Sure, we've sunk Lobot what else are we supposed to do?

"A lesbian werewolf love story"

If it doesn't, they won't know Watto do.

This is a really good point, well made. Dr. J, your film criticism is as good as your slam dunking skills were back in the day.

What the hell are you Tarkin about?

This is why I still think of Reservoir Dogs as his best film. It's rough around the edges, to be sure, but man, is it tight and well-paced.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. I don't know if it counts given that it was a self-contained miniseries, and it may not have been the best TV I've ever seen in my life, but in terms of exceeding my expectations for what an adaptation of that novel could be, it was, dare I say it (*puts on sunglasses*) magical.

No, thank you!

And, some day, when all we know has faded to dust, your rightness will stand tall over the fact that people, generally, thought you were an asshole.

The pleasure is mine!

I've actually been talking a lot about that with some of my friends leading up to this movie's release. It's almost impossible for me to look at the first Star Wars movie objectively in terms of its merits as a film - I was 2 when I saw it in the theater, and it dominated my pop culture consciousness and imagination

And huzzah, I say! Again, I say huzzah! I can only hope that your ability to predict the failure of various forms of popular entertainment remains a joy to you and others for many days to come.

Truly, you are the Internet's one authentic visionary. My hat is off to you, good sir; a hero for our modern age. May the light of your vigilant custodianship of cinematic merit never flicker or dim.

I'm just constantly amazed at how much time people dedicate to watching TV. I have friends who are probably up on every show on this list…and I'm, like, tied to one show at a time, plodding through episodes hour-by-hour because life, and stuff. And I'm not even all that busy.
