Under the Dome: Miami! Think of the reverb they'll get on that first "YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!" from "Won't Get Fooled Again."

I liked the part of the article when he said, "dome."
I find it mildly amusing that more than one of these shows saddled the cast with a mynah bird companion. I wonder if mynah birds were just more of a thing back then, or if it was the same person going from show to show, sitting in meetings and chiming in with, "Hey, you know what would be great in this cartoon? A…
I guess I don't really agree with that - it feels like picking semantic nits, to me. But that's, just, like, my opinion, man.
But don't worry because, according to Heller, you can eat music!
There are two things I agree with you on:
ZOMG, this. The whole "starving artist" thing is such a romantic notion until you're, you know, actually starving.
OK, so this problem I have: This is about the 15th time I've heard someone sing the praises of Deafheaven's new record, so I went to check it out. I really dug the instrumental aspect of the music, but I can't get over the vocal style. I actually had much the same problem with Fucked Up's David Comes to Life - I'd get…
It's okay with me.
Oh, sorry! I misunderstood your post. Umm…oh yeah?
Oh, god, the fucking, "You've never experienced this thing, so don't write or sing a song about it" argument, again. Can we please retire that? Either that, or call Johnny Cash, John Darnielle, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and…goddamnit, practically every other songwriter in existence…and tell them that any material…
It's so weird, because I LOVE Primer very, very, much, but I've been hesitant to dive into Upstream Color. It's almost like I'm afraid that I won't "get" it, or won't like it, and I don't want to have my perfect image of Shane Carruth as an excellent and visionary filmmaker tarnished.
I am so hit-and-miss on Linklater - I hated Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly so much that I only narrowly avoided seppuku after seeing them, but I love the "Before" movies, Dazed and Confused, Tape and The School of Rock. Perhaps I should just steer clear of anything animated he does from here on out.
Best Rocket Fist: Pacific Rim
"The Bleeding Heart Show." Your opinion is invalid.
Yeah, I'd agree with @avclub-9c33ea7188cb0fc5d524f4ad1e8d8fc5:disqus . I fell in love with them over Mass Romantic, but the band has evolved a lot, since then, and Twin Cinema is a decent bridge between where they were in the beginning and where they are, now.
I'm finally getting around to picking up Wise Man's Fear, the sequel to The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. I've heard a lot of really bad things about it, which is probably why I've put it off for so long. I'm only a couple of chapters in, and nothing horrible has hit me, yet, but I'd be lying if I didn't say…
Sure, there's a difference. But it's still sadness. Of course REM is better off, quality-of-life-speaking, than someone struggling for shelter or to put food on the table. So, what, again, that means they can't write a song about hurting? Does that mean that, if you're in love, you can't write a breakup song? Hey,…
Big ups for citing Waxahatchee. Cerulean Salt is a great record.
