My favorite part of this has been reading interviews with the showrunners and Martin in which they talk about what a shame it is to lose Michelle Fairley, how sad they are to not work with such a great actress any more, etc. Those sly dogs.

I actually agree with you. The one thing that threw me about the mythology was that they couched it as a Korean myth, but full of words like "Scrunt" and "Eatlon" that…well, they don't sound Korean, at all. That just struck me as weird.
"It may not be Snyder’s best movie"
So, what, it's *worse* than the steaming pile of vomit that is the rest of his filmography?
"What's do disappointing is how earnest their failed attempt was."
Another vote for "This Is the Last Time."
So, there's one strike against the year.
I always thought their most immediate song was "Apartment Story." I've never understood why more people don't share my overriding affection for that tune.
Yeah, even if they see something coming for Robb, I'm guessing few will anticipate Cat's fate, or the scope of the slaughter at the Red Wedding, in general.
Agreed. Good thing he becomes such an integral part of the story and a focus for one of the best characters in the series. *Facepalm*
Khal Drogo was shirtless in every scene in which he appeared.
I think part of the problem with talking about nudity on this show has to do with the fact that the sight of a woman's chest is considered a big deal, and the sight of a man's is not. We've seen many, many, dudes naked from the waist up, but because a man's torso is OK, it doesn't even register…whereas *boobs* are…
The biggest shame of that movie's failure, aside, of course, from the fact that it ruined a really great book, was that was never got to see how Hollywood would handle the increasing level of anti-religion stuff in subsequent films. Not that I think they would have handled it well, mind, but from a rubbernecking…
Hear hear. It's the exact same thing - I certainly don't consider myself a literary or intellectual titan, but it's ass-blastingly obvious to me that we haven't heard the last of this guy, and yet I talk to lots of people who are just, like, "ZOMG JON SNOW IS REALLY DEAD."
There's a lot of Dany's story left to cover, though - her relationship with Jorah, his betrayal, the whole Daario thing (which I have a hunch is going to be a bigger deal earlier on in the show than it was in the books)…and given that they can only spend a few minutes at a time in each location, I think it's going to…
"anachronistically shaved vaginas"
Very up on the history of personal grooming in this ENTIRELY FICTIONAL world, are you?
Charles Dance should get an Emmy nomination. He has owned every scene in which he's appeared.
Agreed. I think seeing Jon and Ygritte interact, I'm finally starting to understand why Kit Harrington was cast.
Actually, I think things are coming back around to facilitate an ending for Shae similar to the one in the books. At the beginning, I was thinking, "This is weird, because what motivation does she have to betray him now that she's not the unintelligent, power-chasing lady she was in the books?" But now, with her…
And the score. Oh, the horror that is the score.
