I actually thought that was a great way to finish, but then, I've always been one for gray-shaded endings.

I kind of liked that element of the story, honestly. Cooper put an epic ton of responsibility on Will right from the jump, and even if he didn't want it, and it wasn't fair, and was more than anyone his age should have to deal with, it was his and he had to bear up. That was something of a mature  idea to put into a

If anyone at the AV Club is a fan, I'd love to see a Memory Wipe on the The Dark Is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper. I discovered Cooper's and Alexander's work around the same time, and loved them both, not to mention that the seeds of my future anglophilia were planted through their exploration of British legends. Two things:

Weird Al really is a game mofo. Cool story, bros: Back in the day, when I worked for a site that covered "geek" pop culture, we managed to land a video interview with him. When he arrived, we asked if he'd be willing to shoot a snippet of something for a horror short that some friends of mine and I were throwing

Chips and Sansa?

Hodoritos FTW.

I loved seeing Joffrey cowed by Margaery. The character has been in full-on villain mode for so long that it's nice for them to bring some vulnerability back to him - that here is this beautiful, strong woman with a grace his mother (the only other major example of female nobility to which he's ever been exposed)

Wasn't the Fist of the First Men battle scene painted in flashback in the books? Like, isn't there still a chance we could get a glimpse of it? I suppose that could just be wishful thinking on my part.

Have there been rumblings of there being no Strong Belwas? That would make me a sad person. His duel with Oznak at the Siege of Mereen is a favorite moment of mine.

A site this rife with pop culture nerds, and no one mentions High Fidelity? I'm stunned. As a big music dork *and* a man who had a hard time committing to a serious relationship through most of my 20s and early 30s…let's just say it spoke to me.

You, sir or madam, win the Internet.

Hugh Anthony Cregg III (aka Huey Lewis) said it best, my friends:

That scene was literally the best time I had at the movies last year.

Hey, Andrew Niccol gotta eat.

I was oncssse a man. A MAAAAAAN.

OK, here's my question for Mad Men fans: Does it let up on the wink-wink, nudge-nudge nods to the idea that people in the past were idiots with which it is rife throughout its first 6 episodes? I started on the series when season one first hit DVD, and I just couldn't stand it. "Oh, look at how DUMB they were, they

I am absolutely convinced that Ramin Djawadi had lyrics in his head when he composed the theme tune. The phrase "Game of Thrones" fits too neatly at the end of the main melodic part for that not to be true. Incidentally, I feel the same way about John Williams's Superman score.

Touche.
