There you are, Kurt Wuffner!
Hell to the fuckin yea, Animalympics! If I had a 'spirit animal', though, it would be Dean the Otter, fer sure!

Candlebox…ugh. They had in the 90's (still have?) a show on Oahu called the Big Mele and it was a festival with all kinds of bands (Social D, Black-Eyed Peas, Cypress Hill- that kind of stuff). Candlebox was there and despite being transported to a whole new level on woodrose seeds and a nasty fifth of vodka, they…
I saw Crash Worship back in 94' or 95' at a gigantic rave in the mountains north of San Diego. And it was the first time I took mushrooms.
Pantera
I know, I know but lemmetellya: these pissants had an excellent live show.
What? What about All-Star Superman with Grant Morrison?!? Those stories are awesome-
Truly
I got excited when I saw Robert Roth's name on the opening quote. That band was kind of an overlooked little psychedelic gem. I highly recommend their two albums (Fast Stories… from Kid Coma and Feeling You Up). Great fuzzy, drugged-up pop. You gotta do something on them one time- although they were tagged as a…
Oldies but goodies (for me)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind- The kid going out the doggie door towards the light- freaky. Also, the mashed potato Devil's Tower and the parts where you see the confusion and rage set into Teri Garr about Richard Dreyfuss descent into obsession.
How about when the river spirit breaks up into little shards? That is just …awesome?
Yep, that train scene is just hypnotizingly quiet and beautiful. Great scene in a wonderful movie.
Animalympics!!! My favorite was the California sea otter as a Mark Spitz/hippie surfer with the stony accent. Also, some pretty psychedelic sequences in there as well.
You guys are all WRONG- Kiss in the Phantom of the Park!! They have power rings ferchristsakes!!!
Martyn was pretty good.
Just listened to that.
My additions-
Plants Vs. Zombies- great time-suck of a game.
Torchlight- This is action RPG-lite crack and it's pretty dang fun
WHAT?!!??!
Mojo Nixon and the Toadliquors: Horny Holidays- BEST CHRISTMAS MUSIC EVER!!!! Plus, they drank 34 bottles of peppermint schnapps during recording, so no one is more hardcore Christmas than that!
District 9
I know some other people have mentioned it but that was one visceral sci-fi movie. Made an impression on me.
Moscow mule y'all!
Mmmm mm mmm mm mmmmm!
Hmmm…
Is Downfall in there? That was excellent.
I'll second that love- fer sure, man, fer sure.
Good list but….
I am a little wary about picking some of the more independent comics although I have read a couple of them on the list and liked them. I really prefer the more bizarre, surreal-humored varieties, like PBF or Maakies. I guess I like my introspection done at a different level.
Lemme see….
Xanadu (neon, ONJ, roller skating, Gene Kelly, Greek gods, and ELO= WTF)
Animalympics (c'mon, DVD release please!)
The Blues Brothers (fuck I love that movie)
Drunken Master (I and II)
Jaws (Roy Schneider and Richard Dreyfuss are just great)
Flash Gordon (Brian Blessed and Queen are like chocolate and peanut…
