Unfortunately there can't really be a reunion special of Buffy anymore… let's face it - none of the cast is really looking like people I want to see reprising those roles ever again anymore. Although… I think that the season 8 comic would make a kick-ass setting for a TV show revolving around a new cast…

It's one of those really quick, very tiny little character beats in the show that honestly stuck with me when the rest of the episode had mostly faded from memory. Just the way it was played - not as a huge revelation with tears and screeching but just as a small, private and almost clinically detached realization by

I think it was at the end of this episode, if I remember right, when Emily is sitting in the car and just quietly says something like "She's right you know. I don't know my own daughter." And there is that little beat before they drive away that is one of the most heartbreaking bits of that show IMHO…

How about this - do a Big Brother and every time an eviction comes along the person being evicted is vaporized by a bright light? Or possibly a reality show where three people have to live with a bear? And maybe it can all be run by a human/computer hybrid secretly controlled by menacing mutant aliens hiding out in a

I watched Shada on VHS back in the 90's when it was pieced together for the first time… It felt undercooked at best.

I am going to open myself up to some flaming here but… I have to say, I enjoyed season 2 of this show less than season 1 and season 3 a little less than season 2… It's still eminently watchable and can go on that trajectory for a number of seasons more since it's so good. But I don't know…

Oh great… Now we are stuck in the 1960's Batman movie… At least we can look forward to Batman saying to the camera "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"

But if the clue is left, that could mean the Riddler…

Didn't people used to go on game shows to win enough money that they didn't have to work anymore?

Just got done with the show on netflix. And I will say this - season 5 is not as sucky as some will say. It isn't anywhere near the levels of what came before but if season 5 were season 1 of some other show, it would have been renewed - perhaps even lauded as "Slightly above average". The problem with season 5 is

I recently got done marathoning "The West Wing" and I can say this - the last three seasons were not bad. But they were hollow and devoid of the animating force from the shows creator. I suspect that we may be seeing another show follow that path - it won't be "Bad" but it will only be a shadow of it's former self.

Seems to me that the transporters can handle that… I mean, they can reassemble full humans from information beamed over hundreds of thousands of miles. Is trek telling me that they can't fiddle a bit with DNA at the same time?

But it's been established in Trek lore that there are lifeforms the exist in pure energy form… a few times (To the point where in TOS they seemed more common than flesh and blood races to be honest)…

I always took that as a dodge by the show to get their makeup artists off the hook to be honest…

"Not to mention the fact that Bashir can’t change DNA."

Actually, the entire run of "Gilmore Girls" might be a good candidate for the AVClub. The show is really smart in the way it sets up it's characters and situations and proceeds, step by step, to create a world for them to inhabit. And it never makes it obvious that it is doing that… It just seems like, at the time,

Someone has to ask this question : Who is the joke on? Is "Joe Schmo" really a person unaware of what is going on in the show and therefore the joke is on him or is he actually another actor playing the part of that person - meaning the joke is on the viewer?

Volcanoes exploding to music are always fun.

You know, at first I wondered why Netflix even bothered with a multiple episode structure for something like this… then it occurred to me : a 12 to 13 hour movie is simply unwatchable. One would have to break it up anyway when it came to viewing it. And therefore structuring it with that idea in mind in advance makes
