I find the point about the pacing especially ironic considering that the slow pace is one of the big complaints people have about the original series. As someone who actually enjoys the pace of classic Who, I would like to see the concepts in the new series breath a bit more but it's hard to complain about a show

I think it was less for the sake of the plot and more to have some viscerally horrific menace in there. Got to keep the kids behind the couch. I agree about the radiation thing though.

Hey, Lobsters is just saying that it's not cool to be all down on something, even if it's laughably inaccurate or silly. You'd never rag on something out of proportion to its offensiveness, would you, Lobsters? Of course not. We are all clearly hypocrites.

Right, the two things really have nothing to do with each other, unless you take the Bible literally, and well, that would just be nutty.

This is interesting. I love Life's Too Good, but I was warned against Here Today on the grounds that Einar's vocals were overused. I liked his interjections on Life's, but I could see how it could be taken too far. Since people are defending it, I may need to check it out.

Pearl Jam Backlash
When did the Pearl Jam backlash start? I, personally, am not going for it. Pearl Jam is some good rock and roll. STP is too, but I have to disagree with the thesis of this article,; I don't think they were as good as the other popular bands of the era. Then again, I can't stand "cock rock" posturing

Covert Art
Yet another example of the extremely sweet cover art in this box.

When you improve your interplanetary funksmanship.

Oh, aeonopolis, how could you be so naive? Our entire civilization is built upon blowjobs.

I just want to say
Nation of Millions is stone cold classic. I wish I was going to this.

Some expensive vintage equipment might help.

I think doing LSD every weekend is for kids, yes. But surely an adult can take that trip every now and then? It can certainly be nice to change your perspective on occasion.

Allow me to clarify: I enjoyed, the setting, the plots, the characters, the acting and many other things about Firefly, but I didn't like the way in which the dialog was written. It seemed to me that instead of communicating the character's traits by showing the characters exhibiting them, they would have them

I've always been confused at the esteemed position that Wheden's dialog holds in the eyes of most fans. I never really watched Buffy, but I saw every episode of Firefly, and I loved everything about it except the dialogue, which I found over-the-top and far too self-consciously sassy. In the few episodes of Buffy I

I think rolling your own cigarettes is about paying a fraction of the cost of conventional cigarettes.

Contrast
Isn't the reason that beer goes well with pizza the taste contrast? Why would I want to cut the flavor of pizza with the flavor of pizza?

I'm inclined to agree; I love the Dead but I find the Dave Matthews band kind of bland. Just because a band jams on stage doesn't mean they play the same sort of music. I suppose it might seem that way if the jamming is a big turnoff for you in and of itself (which seems to be the way this board largely leans) but the

Not to undercut your comment, but it made me think to post about how much I love Lou Reed's voice. It's so full of cool. He doesn't even have to all the way sing most of the time.

Public Enemy
There is some good advice contained in this video.

Adaptation
Isn't Moore firmly against all adaptations of his work? Though a Watchman movie would be awesome if carried off correctly, I don't think I can support the idea, given that. I'll just download it illegally.
