No and no.
No and no.
Nope.
No.
No, not that one.
Stephen Root
Wasn't he in that one movie, you know, the one where they're under siege?
Fantasy Religion
I love religious groups endorse or condemn all major fantasy movies based on whether the magical creatures in them are similar enough to the magical creatures that they think really exist.
Harry Potter: wizards - Hell
Golden Compass: Polar Bear - Hell
Narnia: Magic Lion - Heaven

Admitted Marijuana Smoker??!!
Surely a popular entertainer would never use such a powerful and destructive drug. I refuse to believe it.
It seems feasible that it would be about the bad guys. As Haden pointed out so eloquently, there isn't a lot happening in the Shire during this period, but Sauron gets kicked out of Mirkwood during the events of the Hobbit and then gets to work on resettling Mordor. Not to mention all of the political happenings in…
That could actually be a good idea. It would be interesting to see a movie out of the intervening time, though of course that would put them in the unique position of having to come up with a narrative based solely on Tolkien's 'historical' notes. Even if it doesn't work, at least we would get a concise Hobbit movie.…
Bilbo
Well, I'm exited about this, though a little confused as to why two movies would be necessary. My main question, though, is in the casting of Bilbo. Will we get Ian Holm in a makeup-and-CGI-born youth? Or a lookalike? It seems like preserving continuity might be a little tricky.
Lila and Next Season
Did anyone else buy Dexter's line to Lila, when he told her they were exactly the same? I had this whole scenario pop into my head, that Lila had been introduced to become Dexter's confidant next season. It all made sense, that they would slowly build her character in order to make us believe that…
I think this is appalling. Clearly, there is no excuse for Ike's treatment of Tina, but the man practically invented rock and roll. I think he deserves a little respect at his passing, at the very least.
Analogy
This image makes a disturbingly apt analogy for the state of entertainment at the moment.
SPOILER ALERT
Marissa Nadler
Guess folk music isn't too popular at the A.V. Club. I was pretty exited about Marissa Nadler's 'Songs III: Bird on the Water,' but I was surprised not to see it mentioned here, especially since it got such a glowing review on this site.
