Ha, that's weird man. High-school grades don't really mean much in life. I did biology in 12th grade and tied for last place out of 40 students with a girl who ended up just graduating with good enough results to scrape into a science degree and is now a very successful molecular biologist. In fact most of the most

Stevie Wonder is great.

A count of billy tea is the best cup you'll ever drink.

I saw them live when they reunited and they were admittedly very good performers

I envy a lot of my friends who drank and took drugs in High-school, realised how destructive it was by 20 and then quit. I started that whole process much later and wasted a lot more valuable time.

Same age, for me it was Linkin Park that everyone in 6th grade got into for some reason.

I liked Like A Stone although the album version wasn't great. I've seen some great cover versions of it over the years. I think that's more in the Soundgarden tradition though.

They definitely spent their whole career living in the shadow of their first album, a bit like Pearl Jam.

Ben Folds Five were great even if Folds himself lost me a few years back. Jamiroquai on the other hand are a band that you can always use to figure out whether people who claim to like music are actually into music or just use it as fashion accessory to seem cool. They have always been one of the least fashionable

I always saw them as a dumber and more nu-metalish Soundgarden.

Yup, utter nonsense. Though I can see how an anecdote like that might be useful in helping kids remember what the rests mean.

Good catch

Holy shit lol, are you talking to me or yourself?

I'm not. I'm actually greatly amused and laughing at you, but think whatever helps you feel like you trolled successfully and strokes your fragile little ego. I couldn't care less. Lol

Whilst informative my response to that is a big who the hell cares. Who said you can't write a good song about being an awful person? The amount of great music you would have to dismiss because it's written from the perspective of an unpleasant character is huge. You could write the blues off right away, pretty much

I couldn't give a shit if you don't agree with me by the way. I didn't even state an opinion so I don't know what you claim to be disagreeing with. You think far too highly of yourself and how much I value your shitty shallow poorly expressed opinions.

Nope clearly you have a problem with the music that is, which means you aren't really much of a music fan, which means your opinion is worthless.

Words can not describe how little an amount of shit I give

His hip-hop inspired pop songs are definitely his worst. Ironically I think he writes so many of them to counter the criticism he gets for being a stereotypical singer-songwriter sometimes. It's unfortunate that that's what he's actually good at doing. I See Fire is a really well-written song with great vocal melodies

So far it seems to boil down to:
