Yeah, HDM was fantasy, for sure. Steampunk sci-fi in places, but never like Ender.

Yeah, it's kind of strange how sci-fi only rarely seems to be able to pull off a satisfying end to a serial. Fantasy does it consistently, but maybe that's because the stakes never rise quite as high as they do in science fiction, where it's usually THE UNIVERSE AND ALL OF CREATION that's they're fighting for at the

Just FYI, the little girl, Mana Ashida, is actually a robot herself, designed by Japan's top cuteness engineers to act as Japan's last line of defense. It's quite effective.

I don't know what to think, as normally I would consider you an expert on both giant robots and monsters, as well as Freudian apocalypses, but I'm not a fan of the sarcasm I detect. I truly don't think there is a way this could be bad.

Goddammit, thank you! I try telling gaijin about the giant, fire-breathing monstrous turtle and how he is a protector of the smallest among us but they never believe that he is real.

Yeah he must be the shittiest Dothraki warrior ever if they make him shave his entire head and not just cut his braid.

And nothing sounds quite like an eight oh eight

I'm cool with that. "Living Dead Girl" is a cool song and a cool video.

However, making you feel lousy was kind of the point of Devils's Rejects. In doing so, it proved it's own worth as a movie.

It's not a bad idea, especially if they end up at the story of Harald Hardrade. Dude went from being a mercenary in Poland and Byantium to king of Denmark and the last Viking to invade England. He was all kinds of bad-ass, and you could probably make a series based solely on him fucking shit up around Europe.

I actually remember hearing various Moroder tracks in Essential Mixes and various other DJ mixes in the early 2000's and not even realizing they were recorded 25 years prior.  They always sounded just as fresh and interesting as anything else in the mix. Even now, with "I Feel Love" in my headphones, if you told me

To put it in CK2 terms, I'd say that the Jarl has been concerned that Ragnar was going to build up too much prestige and money from running up the warscore that he would be afraid of him making a claim on his title, with a bunch of other dudes as backers of his plot. The Vikings may also have some sort of elective

AMA Request: Someone who enjoys Tyler Perry movies un-ironically.

Neil getting his tongue bitten off at a show may be the most rock and roll thing that ever aired on MTV.

Am I the only person for whom London was the best season? I remember finding the group really interesting and actually more "real" than the casts of LA or San Francisco. The Pedro and Puck thing was interesting, yeah, but the London cast seemed like a group of cool, interesting adults (to me at 15 years-old, at least)

Oh when they were in Austin people pretty much straight-up attacked them one night on 6th street. Some dude punched one of them in the face while he was lying on the ground. Looked like being hit with a sledgehammer.

My wife discovered that we could watch this on one of the Japanese pirate streaming sites that she frequents like a year ago. Honestly, we had trouble getting through it, even though we're both huge Miyazaki fans.

To quote George Orwell, speaking about the English working class:

Pam's reluctance to move to Philly is frankly a bit baffling. She acts like Jim wants her to move to Africa or something. Scranton is like two hours from Philadelphia. I'd bet anything plenty of people commute between them every day.

I thought so. In other news, I can't wait for the return of Game of Houses.
