wow Kerry Washington was shockingly bad, I'm really surprised.  It was like you could see her thinking "now move your arm when you say this line."  "now open your eyes really big"  it kinda blew my mind cause I usually like her.

I think the problem is that they've sort of painted themselves into a corner with Dallas.  At first she was a nice, fun, superficial and goofy but kind woman.   But as they've developed the character to give her more depth it becomes harder to sympathize with a lot of her behaviors.

I think the best explanation is that while she WILL be getting alimony and child support she isn't currently.  If she's still technically going through the divorce then money would be tight because she'd be paying a lawyer on top of also paying for daycare and other baby expenses.
